My wife and I went to The Three Blackbirds for dinner. We were there on a date and were seated in a cozy area near the back. The food was altogether outstanding as was the atmosphere we experienced. I really couldn't say enough good things about this establishment. I would definitely go again.

Named 2011’s Pub of the Year by the Newmarket Journal, The Three Blackbirds offers modern British cuisine in old world surroundings. Offsetting the 17th-century site, pretty picnic benches are pitched outdoors during summer.

Offering a daily-changing selection dictated by the best available produce, The Three Blackbirds menu offers wonderfully fresh recipes. Rich, heady British flavours include roasted partridge breast on leek and bacon risotto, whilst inventive culinary flair gives rise to dishes like liquorice and espresso-roasted venison with braised red cabbage.

For an after-dinner indulgence, desserts span from cleansing lemon posset, to rich chocolate and hazelnut torte with Chantilly cream. From the bar at Three Blackbirds Woodditton, enjoy smooth cask ales and fine wines, as well as freshly roasted coffees and loose leaf teas.

An old-world setting, farmhouse trinkets, chunky wood furnishings and pretty china make for a delightfully eclectic ambience. The Three Blackbirds restaurant sits 11 minutes’ drive from Central Newmarket.

When we got in, we were ignored by the front staff as they just walked past us to take a delivery of clean towels. then we were escorted to a table next to the till/open kitchen door with constant staff movement next to us. Ordered diet coke with no ice, and got coke with ice. Very friendly, polite but useless waiting staff. The food was good though.
