Enjoyed the sandwiches; scones tasted good but were rather small; We liked the cakes but selection seemed random with no choice. Great service, including providing 'seconds' of sandwiches and of tea. Pleasantly informal.

Everything was perfect apart from a few little things. The waitor's clothes looked dirty... that's not really professional. It would also be great if they could remember the type tea each of us asked for, so when we ask for a refill, they won't mix up our teas, because then you have to get new cups too... Some of the finger sandwiches had almost no filling. One of them just has a thin layer of onion chutney... I'm sure it would not break the bank to get double filling (compared to the current sizes) + more ingredients in them.

Food here is absolutely fantastic.
Staff are attentive upon arrival, but after this it is difficult to even flag their attention as they do no survey the room. We had this exact issue in our previous visit a couple of months ago.

A special champagne tea treat for two friends visiting from the USA, I wanted it to be special. It was not. It was noisy, which was disappointing, and not the genteel ambiance I had hoped for. Finger sandwiches were ok, scones were small, hard as rocks and dry, cakes looked old. Raspberry tarts looked wilted and lavendar cake crumb base disintegrated on trying to pick it up. Moisture had softened it due to lavendar mousse soaking into it over a long period. Liquid teas were excellent, and plentiful. Service was excellent and the staff were friendly and welcoming.

Lovely location, presentation of food was excellent. Sandwiches were delicious and good we were able to get more.
Disappointed scones were small and overcooked, the tart was tasty but the fulling had soaked through the pastry so was soggy. We didn't like the lavender cheesecake as it was more mousse than cheesecake plus we don't like lavender in food.
The service was great. The table was a bit wonky.

Polite welcome on arrival, both into the hotel and the restaurant itself. Nice view, attentive staff and flexible in the face of our indecision over whether to have a late afternoon tea or an early dinner. The food was delicious, even though an error was made in an order, we didn't complain as the dish bought was one we had thought about and it looked so good. (We orderedthe mozzarella sandwich but received the mezzo, a better option!) We stayed quite long but did not feel rushed at all and oh yes the mocktails were gorgeous. Highly recommend as an oasis of calm, with delicious food and drinks, in busy Charing Cross. Str

Afternoon tea was delicious with an unusual selection of teas. The service was attentive without being intrusive. It was a very relaxed afternoon
