The Tea Lounge & Library at St. Ermin’s is a relaxed yet stylish environment to enjoy afternoon tea. Each afternoon tea is inspired by seasonal ingredients, some of which are grown on their rooftop kitchen garden; this fresh produce shapes every afternoon tea, whether it be classic, themed, children’s or gluten-free. In the summer, afternoon tea is also served on the hotel’s outdoor terrace.
The St Ermin’s afternoon tea includes a range of teas alongside sweet and savoury delicacies. Amongst the luxurious sandwiches are prawn with lemon and dill, cucumber with mint and chive cream cheese, coronation chicken or Cumbrian ham with Montgomery cheddar. Follow this with a choice of freshly baked scones including clotted cream and homemade jam, or delectable treats such as passionfruit and coconut éclair, rhubarb and custard verrine or peach and apricot mousse.
St. Ermin’s is reached by a tree-lined courtyard, as you walk through the doors you are greeted with a friendly smile, original rococo plasterwork and a warm atmosphere. The hotel is soaked in history, with links to Winston Churchill and espionage, this sense of character extends to its approach to service, where everyone is treated as an individual.
St. Ermin’s Hotel is conveniently located in Westminster, only two minutes walk from St James’s Park Tube Station, with many of London’s major historical attractions on its doorstep.

The goodies they presented in the afternoon tea was intriguing and delicious and it was (almost) sad to be eating them. The plain scone was my favourite of them all although the sandwiches were delicious too. Some of the goodies were a bit too sweet for me but otherwise the whole experience was great. The portion were just right and the cost was good and reasonable rate so definitely be happy to recommend this place. The hotel was also a nice surprise as we didn't expect it to be looking grand from the facade.

Sandwiches and scones were nice. The sweets were not as exciting. The tea refills were adding hot water to a fading tea bag. Service was AWOL most of the session and did not justify their 12.5% tip they added.

The service was amazing and the afternoon tea was one of the best! The sandwiches are traditional which was lovely and the desserts were very special. We went for the bottomless Rose option and we were not disappointed!

The service and food were amazing, and the hotel is beautiful. The sweets on the tea selection were so creative and well done. We booked the bottomless prosecco tea, and only once did I make it to the bottom of my glass, but that only lasted a few seconds. The only issue we ran into was that the offering had recently changed to bottomless rose wine instead of prosecco. Of course, the staff was very accommodating and we were able to have the prosecco. I will certainly go back and give the rose a try as well.
