The Tea Lounge & Library at St. Ermin’s is a relaxed yet stylish environment to enjoy afternoon tea. Each afternoon tea is inspired by seasonal ingredients, some of which are grown on their rooftop kitchen garden; this fresh produce shapes every afternoon tea, whether it be classic, themed, children’s or gluten-free. In the summer, afternoon tea is also served on the hotel’s outdoor terrace.
The St Ermin’s afternoon tea includes a range of teas alongside sweet and savoury delicacies. Amongst the luxurious sandwiches are prawn with lemon and dill, cucumber with mint and chive cream cheese, coronation chicken or Cumbrian ham with Montgomery cheddar. Follow this with a choice of freshly baked scones including clotted cream and homemade jam, or delectable treats such as choux bun with cherry compote, milk chocolate and salted caramel layered pot or peach and apricot mousse.
St. Ermin’s is reached by a tree-lined courtyard, as you walk through the doors you are greeted with a friendly smile, original rococo plasterwork and a warm atmosphere. The hotel is soaked in history, with links to Winston Churchill and espionage, this sense of character extends to its approach to service, where everyone is treated as an individual.
St. Ermin’s Hotel is conveniently located in Westminster, only two minutes walk from St James’s Park Tube Station, with many of London’s major historical attractions on its doorstep.

Whilst myself and my party thoroughly enjoyed our Afternoon Tea experience in the beautiful setting of St Ermins, we all felt that the amount of desserts was too much and we would have preferred more of the sandwiches instead. If this is something that could be considered we would be coming back time and time again. Maybe diners could be given a choice of more sandwiches / less desserts particularly being mindful of health issues related with sweet dishes. I am happy to pay the same amount too - I would have thought it would cost more in terms of time and ingredients to make all the wonderful desserts.

Beautiful, elegant surroundings, warm and accommodating staff (they found us a table on the terrace), truly special. This my second visit for afternoon tea and did not disappoint. Good selection of sandwiches, tasty scones although small and possibly too many cakes- but maybe we should have asked to take some home. I will definitely be booking again.

We all had a lovely time, the surroundings were beautiful and we overlooked the staircase, which gave a sense of space and privacy. The service was fantastic and all the staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was enjoyable and very well presented. Our only suggestion would be to reduce the size of the sweet treats, we felt the tulips and peach was a little too big, the flower pots were too large and a little too sweet however that is personal taste. The scones were as light as a feather and tasted like heaven. We would certainly recommend a visit to our friends and will definitely come again.

Everything I expected and more. I loved the ambience, the service, and most importantly the tea! The sandwiches and desserts were one of a kind and like nothing I have ever seen before. This was the perfect experience with a tea in London. Only steps away from Westminster Abbey and Buckingham palace. I couldn’t have asked for anything more. Make reservations in plenty of time. Our dining area was very private and not in the main dining room, but next to the terrace.

Creativity 10/10 but Portions way to big. No one wants to eat so much mousse. Lost its delicacy due to large portions. Therefore I would not recommend it to a friend...Staff very nice. We really appreciated how kids friendly everything was! Changing table in the ladies and gentlemen room was really progressive!

I have been visiting the Tea Lounge for over 6 years the food is always of a high standard, but OMG they surpassed themselves this year. I have been twice this summer with different friends and all were amazed with the food and excellent service. Staff were very attentive without being over the top. Certainly value for money and very near train links.

Had a fantastic time again. It was my granddaughter's first afternoon tea. She is 9 and here on holiday from Poland. She had the Mini Gardener afternoon tea. She loved decorating her own shortbread. The staff were lovely to her. They put her apple juice in a champagne flute and her orange juice in a tea cup. They jokingly offered her the bill as she was guest of honour. She declined. The sandwiches were fresh and tasty. The vegetarian options were just as good. The cakes were delicious. We will certainly be back again. Thank you to all the staff for making it such a great experience for my granddaughter.

We had afternoon tea. It was fantastic the location on the terrace was gorgeous. The service excellent the presentation of the tea itself was beautiful. The food was very good quality. We were not rushed out and had a very memorable afternoon. The history of the hotel shared with us made it extra special. I have had afternoon tea at the Dorchester but would certainly rate st Ermins much more highly.
