Starter of crab cocktail was a very small portion of crab which was then drowned in a watery soup. Not what we expected. Beef was tough and all served on cold plates. Bill very expensive and not value for money. Service not good kept waiting for veg while rest of meal went cold.

We dined there with friends on a sunday lunch time it was so disappointing My husband is a vegetarian and he was offer a pthivian of puff pastry with goats cheese and tomatoes when it came it was pathetic just around of pastry and small amount of filling with little dots of spinach in each corner nothing else on the plate we could not believe it!! I order the tropical fruit eton mess when that came it was all cream I had a tiny piece of meringue and two pieces of mango sorry but definitely not good enough at £19.50 ahead I will never go again Ive had better meals at the local pub!!

My husband and I ate here on sat 12th march 11 and had a table booked for 7:30. The service was excellent- although we asked for tap water and the waiter still tried to serve us mineral... The food was really nice- we had three courses including the rib of beef main course to share. This was nice but perhaps a little overpriced, very tasty though. However. Around our main course we both began to get hot... The heating must have been on full pelt. It got uncomfortable and by the time desert arrived I was feeling unwell. We asked the waiting staff and they said as an old building it took time to heat up. In the end we were desperate to leave due to the heat and my husband was visibly sweating, it would put me off going again but food is lovely and wine is reasonable price...

A nice lunch if a little pretentious.

Drinks service was very slow. We had to wait a long time for pre-dinner drink. We were given a menu at the table but no wine list. We had to ask twice for the wine list and our starters arrived before we had ordered any wine. The crab cakes were bland and the mussels lacked sauce but the oysters were good. For main course the Ox cheek was excellent, and the beef rib very good. We had a nice selection of cheese and the wine when we finally got it was fine.

Great cocktails. The barman even designed my friend her own "off menu" cocktail. The food was excellent and I cant wait to eat here again.
