Starting its life as a coaching inn in the 18th century, The Swan has always been central to travellers, and in the past its rich tapestry attracted such luminaries and artists as William Morris, Gustav Holst, and Edward Johnstone. A traditional London pub with cosy, welcoming interiors, it offers a delicious menu of well-loved British dishes.
Since Nicholson’s pubs were first established in 1873, these traditional British inns have become synonymous with warm hospitality, hearty pub food and a speciality range of ales. As well as always featuring British pub classics like beer-battered fish & chips and gammon & eggs, The Swan menu is complemented by a rotating selection of pie, sausage & chop and fish specials for each season.
The Swan bar is always stocked with exquisite gins, warming whiskies and fine wines to pair with favourite meals, and there’s always a superb range of seasonal and regional real ales on offer. A constant at the bar is the St Austell-brewed Nicholson’s Pale Ale, made with Cornish Maris Otter malts, and a hand-picked blend of English hops.
The Swan in Hammersmith is a minute’s walk from Hammersmith Tube Station.

Restaurant upstairs is very good. The problem we had was having a drink after in the bar downstairs was seeing a mouse running around. When we saw that the wife decided it was time to leave. I don't think she will want to go back.

A nice pub in a great location. A very tasty meal. I had chicken and chips, there was plenty of it and it was nicely cooked. It would have been nice to have had some salad or veg with it as it just came with coleslaw. Clean toilets but the hand dryer wasn't working.

Lovely food (although it wasn't actually the burger I had ordered but I decided not to say anything as it had taken so long already). Terrible service. Took half an hour for the food to arrive and when we tried to chase it after 25 mins the waitress did her best to avoid eye contact with us because she knew what we going to ask. When we did speak to her she told us that it was standard practice there for the food to take 30 mins to arrive. Pretty sure that's not acceptable in most restaurants.

We visited The Swan before an evening at the Apollo Hammersmith. The Restaurant is well located and offered a good choice of menu. The food was good and they were able to cater to my request for chips without pre-salting which was much appreciated. The portion size of the mushy peas was miniscule but tasted nice nevertheless. The atmosphere of the restaurant was pleasant compared to the bar downstairs. We would go back

Really pleased with picked the Swan for pre show meal. Booked for the bar & restaurant upstairs. Staff very friendly and service was efficient so we didn't have to rush the meal to make the show. Burgers were amazing huge portion and good value for money. Will go back when next in the area, highly recommended
