An award-winning village pub, The Swan sits at the heart of the picture-perfect village of Southrop. Part of Thyme, an historic Cotswold estate, the menus celebrate the ingredients and flavours of the farm and kitchen garden, as well as using ingredients carefully sourced from local suppliers.

Locally distinct brews, wines and non-alcoholic drinks lead to an interesting drinks menu, with all the wines available by the glass, carafe or bottle and the house wine on tap. A blackboard bar menu ensures a country pub feel and the seasonal table menu has a good choice of simple, rustic dishes.

The Swan at Southrop is complete with traditional bar, low-ceilinged restaurant and further tables in a spacious garden room which opens to 2 courtyards. Sofas, open fires and a snug for more intimate dining create a charmingly rustic setting.

In idyllic Gloucestershire, The Swan is a quintessential English village pub on the Southrop Manor Estate.

Lovely welcome for the three of us from the staff and the restaurant area is bright and welcoming. We had three different mail courses, risotto, salmon fishcakes and hake. All were excellent and again served with smiles. Two huge meringue desserts and one sticky toffee pudding later, we left feeling well-fed!

Lovely understated restaurant with lots of candles and an open fire (needed even though its June!). Service was good but not overly fussy. Good choice on the menu including a couple of veggie options. Food was lovely - fresh, local ingredient well cooked and presented. The beetroot and goats curd salad starter was fabulous and the risotto was delicious. Highly recommend although it is a bit pricey but good value compared to other restaurants in the area.

Really nice Cotswold country gastropub with a good and varied menu good beer good food.Slightly pricey wine but not excessive we had two carafes of house wine which were very good. Service was prompt friendly & and efficient Sadly I have only given three stars for ambiance as although the evening started well, the Pub was invaded by a party of 6 insufferable "luvvies" who were seated in the middle and dominated the restaurant with appalling behavior and loud offensive opinions and comments. They were obviously known to the pub as they knew the staff by first names but comments like "Oh hes not a media person ignore him when you next see him" totally ruined the evening, the diners surrounding all commented to each other that. they really ought to be told to behave better or be put in a separate room. I shall return but will ask if there are any large bookings at that time. The staff really should have reacted better.Otherwise a great place. Just watch out for the regulars.

Rather dark inside and not much space for children. Very friendly and helpful staff. Only one vegetarian option which was a shame.

Delicious meal at The Swan! We had the scotch egg to start followed by beef roast which was cooked to perfection. I had the honeycombe and rosemary ice cream which was to die for! Would highly recommend.

    Friendly welcome, excellent menu.
The risotto was the best ever and the meringue and sorbet absolutely delicious.

Good ambience and service. The menu is unimaginative but competently cooked. The wine list is boring and overpriced.
