Situated in Clapham's quaint Old Town, a short walk from Clapham Common, The Sun is a cosy, eclectic gastro pub serving classic British dishes. A striking frontage leads onto a homely dining room filled with weathered wood furnishings and squashy leather chairs, while the covered al fresco terrace and beer garden is a lively spot for enjoying real ales and soaking up the sun in the summer.
Choose from a menu of trusty, hearty dishes, including pork & chorizo burger with caramelised red onion, cheddar & fries, wild salmon fish cakes with lemon crème fraiche, potato wedges, celeriac & apple slaw, and baked butternut squash with quinoa & cheddar stuffing, served with red onion chutney. Indulge in a treat from the dessert menu, like raspberry & peach crumble with apple sorbet.
Guests can also enjoy a more formal ambience in the upstairs dining room, where an elegant main menu and gourmet bar snacks are on offer. Mouth-watering traditional roasts are served on Sundays at the London pub, with fluffy Yorkshire pudding, tender meat & a vegetarian option, and quiz nights are hosted regularly.
The Sun in Clapham is a 6-minute walk from Clapham Common Tube Station.

Enjoyed a family Sunday roast. Portion sizes were great and the nut roast was delicious. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Food was cheap, but not anything great. Old furniture and dated inside, but ok if you are after that kind old pub look. Did have board games though.

Met expectations, a good pub to watch the rugby at.

Extremely accommodating for our large group (14) especially when numbers changed! And lovely location, nice atmosphere. Staff great. Sadly, however roast wasn't up to scratch. Tiny portion (ie. 3 new potato size roast pots and a tablespoon at most of veg, no crackling with roast pork (was given when asked but a few bits given for whole table).
