On the grounds of the old Sparke House, The Stretton Fox boasts fantastic orchard gardens, al fresco seating, country views and serves well-loved British pub cuisine. The classic Victorian brickwork on the outside conceals a classy interior, with an ornate, white hearth, mirrors and rustic oaken beams.
Hearty Sunday roasts and trusty British dishes head The Stretton Fox menu, and a range just for kids offers mini versions of pub favourites. Signature Vintage pies offer fillings like beef & merlot with buttered peas, while The Stretton Fox ‘Vintage classics’ menu includes lemon & garlic-roasted chicken with seasoned chips.
Paying homage to the Great British pub, the Vintage Inn bar stock includes cask-conditioned beers, real ales and a meticulously compiled wine list. Thirst-quenching offerings include seasonal non-alcoholic cocktails and freshly-pressed juices, and rich coffee is brewed freshly throughout the day.
With its beautiful gardens and country surroundings, The Stretton Fox is just 10 minutes’ drive to Warrington.

Really disappointing meal - ordered the roasted salmon with vegetables as a healthy option but had to send it back as it was literally swimming in butter and oil. Also, we had to move tables due to a cold draft entering through the sash window. Although the fire was on it was still cold so I would advise wearing warm clothing. Nice, traditional ambience and very convienient for M56 but wouldn’t rush back until at least the weather improves.

We’ve been here a few times over the years, it’s a nice cozy, friendly pub, I was a little disappointed with the menu, I’m sure it used to be a bit more interesting, with meals that you didn’t see in most restaurants, I was a little underwhelmed with the choices on this menu, I opted for the ham hock, whilst it was “ok” it wasn’t anything special, our waiter was a nice young lad, very pleasant, I would go again but I’ll leave it a while to see if the menu changes.

Lovely ambience in the restaurant friendly staff. Asked for sauces that never arrived. Drinks took a long time too. Ordered Sunday roasts to find that veg was cold and Yorkshire puds were still partly frozen!
