Dined in restaurant first evening. Food was of a very disappointing quality together with a poor service. We had to wait a considerable time to be served even after having to remind the staff of the delay. All the four meals served lacked taste and quality. These comments also take into account the situation regarding the problems relating to the current pandemic.

We had two evening meals in The Quills Restaurant, both very generous in proportions and good value for money. Both were fish dishes, Grilled Turbot, where the only small point to say was the broccoli was almost raw, very hard and crunchy, but I would order this dish again and on the second night Fresh Haddock, chips and peas, which was perfect. Batter on the fish very crisp and triple cooked chips the best.

Booking was simple, done on line , confirmed when we arrived at hotel Restraunt was clean , staff were very pleasant . Food was delicious, we ate Pea and Potato frittata and Sweet potato soup Chicken with fondant potato and Misto with chips Couldn't eat puddings we were too full. We can recommend all of the above dishes

Good choice on the menu, we had a selection of dishes between the four of us, but the two who had the Fritto Misto said that it should be a sharing dish, but it was excellent! In fact, the whole dining experience was excellent from the staff to the food, full marks to everyone. In fact, I spoke to the restaurant manager on the Sunday when we were leaving to compliment him on the whole dining experience. I feel I. Use mention the staff once again for being friendly, polite and helpful.

The tea was very disappointing. The menu was drastically different from the advertised menu. The setting was a (crowded at times) hotel lobby. We would not dine here again.

We had a thoroughly lovely afternoon tea here on Mother's Day. My personal highlight was the goat's cheese, pepper and walnut sandwiches and the lemon tart. Some of our desserts were a little frozen but it didn't detract from the flavour. The service was excellent, and we were very fond of the pretty crockery used.

Excellent contemporary style afternoon tea. Savouries included some interesting options for fillings such as guacamole and refried beans and smoked duck with carrot and ginger as well as those you'd expect. Scones of a very high standard and again a range of options other than plain and fruit. A startling array of teas and infusions on offer, which you may sample before making your choice. Linn Wu served us and was an absolute star.
