We enjoyed our meal at the Station Smokehouse. The food was well cooked and the service was very good.

Offering a range of dishes including ribs, wings, steaks and burgers, The Station boasts its own American smoker which cooks cooks the meat low and slow over several hours until perfection. Opposite the rail station and a 10-minute walk from the town centre, The Station is also home to a large beer garden and a wide range of beers and cocktails.

    We enjoyed our meal at the Station Smokehouse. The food was well cooked and the service was very good.

    Took a while for food to come ribeye steak request was medium rare and was well don but to be fair once re cooked very nice . Ribs just fat very disappointed but not charged other meals nice . Not much choice of draft beer only fosters larger disappointing desserts very good overall nice evening not fantastic but good food service excellent from bar and table service

    Ok the food was ok however the meal was a birthday meal with my family and we found that the constant pestering from Flies annoying. Not just 1 or 2 but 2 or three families of flies were enjoying our dining experience. It was also disappointing that the waiting staff were in short supply and thus spent most of their time with new customers not in clearing the table and this encouraged the flies to dine further. We decided waiting for 15 mins to have the table cleared we didn't feel like deserts before. It turned an already ok dinner into a disappointment. There are no fly killers in the restaurant and they could gain from having these fitted. I also thisnk that two more staff would be better used in the restaurant. The prices would then reflect the level of service needed in the meal. It is an American theme restaurant with Green King Style Management less staff more profit!!!! but no returning customers!!! In the USA a restaurant in this style would not last long as they have a better service ethic....

    FYI the staff did an amazing job but were too thin on the ground maybe to emloy the flies would have been better...

    Very nice food, little on the pricey side for what it is but was lovely food for a table of 6. service was slow ish for the amount in the restaurant.

    Awful service awful food. Group of four went for a birthday meal only three people had a meal. Sent food back three times as it was wrong. Then asked for something different altogether and they never had any left so told not to bother I'll just the others eat. Not a busy evening but nobody wanted to clear plates ask about dessert, bring dessert or even bring the bill. Extremely disappointed birthday meal. Not sure if I'd try there again for a meal.

    The restaurant is beautifully decorated with an eclectic mix of industrial and train nostalgia. Excellent first impression. We arrived early of our reservation but were quickly seated. Drinks were ordered upon sitting down and brought quickly back to our table. We ordered our food, deciding on the large sample platter for three of us. The food came quickly. It was an amazing looking large platter of all the main samplings of the smoked meats. The taste however slightly let it down. We all agreed that the best tasting smoked meat was the sausage. That I would order again. The chicken wing had no smoked taste at all. The pork ribs were ok, but the large beef rib was mostly fat, and quite revolting to try to eat. We had to ask the waitress to advise us how we were supposed to eat this, and she very kindly cut into it for us to find a small amount of meat. But the amount of effort to scrape off all the gelatinous fat off the small amount of meat was not worth the effort. The beans were undercooked and almost crunchy. The corn had been cooked quite a while ago, and wasn't very hot. So our overall impression of the food was not very good. And then the waitress neglected to come and take away our dishes for a very long time and that wasn't because they were over busy as there were only 2 other tables eating. When asked if things were ok, we did tell our waitress about how felt about the food. We told her we were not asking for a refund, just didn't really like the food. Nothing more was said to us. If I were in Bury StbEdmunds again, I would try the restaurant again, but would not make a special trip there to eat there specifically. My question is why there was no smoked smell in the restaurant and very little smoked taste on the meat. We concluded that if they really did smoke the meats, it must have been done the night before and we were eating yesterday's food.
