The chicken Kiev was tender and well-cooked. I appreciated that most of the garlic butter was served separately. The ginger Parkin was an absolute highlight - dense, spicy crumbly cake served with hot, sweet syrup and ice cream. Staff were polite and friendly. The view is great. My only criticism is that the prices are higher than in Cambridge for is,liar fare, which surprised me.

Great service and ambience. Exceptionally good dessert on the specials menu called Saltwick Nab - try it if you can it is very good indeed.

All the food was really well presented and the staff were incredible. I had the squid for starters which was delicious and the chicken Kiev for main (which I found wasn’t garlicky enough) but I enjoyed non the less. Will 100% be coming back. Great night had.

The matradee has looked after us on many occasions before. Complementary glass of fizz on arrival was a nice touch. Starters arrived but the type of oysters we ordered had not been cooked so they had to go back. Main course arrived, the steak was cooked beautifully but had obviously been left standing because it was warm, not hot. A very nice atmosphere like always and good service.

Really enjoyed our visit to the Star, the food was excellent and the service too. It was good that when I ordered the lamb I was told it may tale around 1 minutes. It arrived after about 17 minutes which was great, as was the food itself. Portions were very good, especially the Cod and chips which was cooked to perfection. perhaps the only adverse comment I have is that our view of the harbour was blocked by a Marquee ercted for Yorkshire day the day after, but this was way beyond your control and not really a problem at all. All in all, a great dining experience, not too pretentious but with good ingredients and service.
