Always great food and service, backed up by good C-19 social distancing measures. I had the sausage and mash, which was lovely on a wet, cold day. Colleague had the burger, which he said was delicious. Wonderful coffee!

The food was delicious, tender venison, juicy tasty bream but it didn’t particularly need the random piece of squid which added nothing I was a little disappointed by the delivery of the food. The waitressing team didn’t seem to have time to check everything. The vegetable dish was brought late so the food was cooling. The desert was delicious but no spoons were brought and although staff were around they did not make eye contact or look over to see us waving to them for attention. The soufflé that was beautiful on delivery had Therefore sunk before we could get a spoon. The attempt to wear a mask properly by the male waiter was really poor, the nose was never covered over even when serving and talking to us. Overall the staff seem to be rather chaotic but perfectly polite

Superb, interesting (in a good way!) menu, I had butternut soup with onion bhaji followed by sea trout with cauliflower and a few nice other bits. Both were top notch, perfectly cooked, flavours worked well, exquisitely presented. Service was faultless, surroundings simple and elegant. Nothing not to like.

Lovely Cotswold Inn with rooms. The staff were very Covid aware and the tables were well spaced. Our meals were delicious with interesting and complementary flavours. The staff were friendly and very helpful.

We visited The Star for the first time for Sunday lunch following a recommendation by a local lady. Thought the décor was extremely well thought out. Friendly greeting. Ordered our roast beef, which we both found to be cooked well and tender, however when asked by waiting staff if everything was okay, I replied I was disappointed with the vegetable selection, no green veg and not much of the rest. I was quickly offered some alternative, which was much apricated I was underwhelmed overall with the lunch, the pudding selection was as if as many different options had been added to what was on offer, so we opted out. Such a shame as my expectations were high, lovely setting, friendly staff, when paying a high (for a pub) price it raises the bar of what is served, which did not quite do it for us.
