Restaurant description

A 5-star boutique hotel dating back to 1687, Prestonfield is home to the Taste of Scotland Show, a celebration of Scottish culture. Offering a quintessentially Scottish meal and entertainment, The Stables at Prestonfield has housed the show for over 40 years.

Dinner at The Stables at Prestonfield is to be enjoyed with traditional Scottish music and dancing. A superb and patriotic 4-course menu begins with creamy clapshot soup or rustic farmhouse pate, and moves onto a choice of sumptuous silverside of Scottish beef or creamy salmon and Finnan haddie mornay in puff pastry. Dessert is a lemon meringue mousse, which precedes a final bow to Scottish cuisine of traditional haggis, neeps and tatties, while coffee with clotted cream fudge round off the meal.

The circular Stables at Prestonfield in Edinburgh are a magnificent Georgian addition to the prestigious and historic Prestonfield venue. Now a ballroom welcoming up to 500 people, The Stables form an impressive dining venue.

A 5-minute drive from Edinburgh’s Waverley Station, The Stables at Prestonfield sit next to the magnificent contours of Arthur’s Seat.
