Restaurant description

Holder of a Michelin Bib Gourmand, The St Tudy Inn is a cosy Cornish pub celebrating the best seasonal produce from the surrounding areas. Simple rustic cuisine, real ales and fine wines are served in a charming setting, complete with an open fire and elegant décor.

The St Tudy Inn menu evolves with the seasons but may include the likes of 8oz sirloin with rustic chips and tarragon butter, pork belly with mash and red wine sauce, or line-caught mackerel with honey and spinach. Amongst the tempting desserts, sample fig and almond tart with clotted cream, or the rich chocolate tart with pouring cream.

Sunday lunch at The St Tudy Inn pub comes packed with meat and all the trimmings, as well as offering alternatives such as butternut squash risotto with truffle oil or ale-battered haddock with hand-cut chips. From the bar comes a range of local ales, world wines and classic cocktails.

It all started well and our first course was excellent whitebait. However, we then sat for over 30 minutes waiting for our main course - lamb - which, after prompting, arrived stone cold despite what had obviously been last-minute reheating. Not good, so we left. Staff apologised, but we really should not have been soft hearted in paying anything at all for a ruined lunch time. It was pretty chaotic the last time came, but this was the last straw.

This was our third visit for Sunday lunch to this gorgeous dining pub. Each visit has been a joy. It's relaxed and unpretentious whilst delivering top notch food and service. Would highly recommend.

piping hot whitebait, homemade citrus mayonnaise, squidgy mozzarella starters followed by intensely flavoured curried duck leg, crispy pooria (a first!), expertly cooked bavette and hand cut chips washed down with a bottle of Duruo red - all perfect. Attentive no fuss service,

Faultless! Knowledgeable staff, superb food and a lovely venue. The confit duck which was served with a divine, creamy, Indian style sauce was truly one of the best dishes I have eaten and as I am gluten free they gave me with a delicious potato dish instead of the bread to have with the other tasty accompaniments.
