Dating back to the 1500s and one of London’s oldest pubs, The Spaniards has been immortalised in various works of literature, and was frequented by historic figures including John Keats. Indoors, a charming yesteryear vibe sees mismatched furnishings, weathered wood panelling and leather-bound books dotted throughout, while a canopy-sheltered terrace immerses diners in Hampstead's lush, green landscape.
Enjoy a hearty meal from the Spaniards menu of British-inspired cuisine, which includes beef shin & kidney pie, kale & mashed potato, gnocchi with quinoa, chestnut mushrooms & truffled cream, and chicken hotpot with bacon, ale & pickled onions. Potted custard caramel with lavender short bread leads the tempting dessert menu.
With roaring fireplaces warming it in the winter, the pub also serves a list of speciality beers & fine wines, and traditional roast is available every Sunday. Enjoy your meal in one of two separate dining rooms, or in the award-winning, dog-friendly beer garden when the weather is warm.
The Spaniards in Hampstead is a 3-minute drive from Hampstead Tube Station.

Had Sunday lunch at this busy pub with great historical atmosphere. There's a shortish menu but the pork loin, nut roast, fish and chips we had were tasty and well presented, along with the beer, and service was great. Nice to be able to take our dog.

So disappointing. We had been wanting to try this pub for ages but we were left feeling so disappointed. The service itself was poor. We had our one year old son with us and we're told there are no high chairs, so he had to eat on our lap which wasn't enjoyable for any of us. We saw our waitress once and that was it. The food was just ok. We had the chicken roast and the beef roast. Both were very dry. The chicken roast was a whole chicken but we only ate half so asked to take the leftovers with us but we're told this was not allowed due to health and safety. Such a waste! Will not return or reccomend to others.

Sunday roast was great . But there is no take away of your unfinished meal ? The portions are so big .. i.e. Had the gammon for two and wanted to take half of it home because it was so large of a dish and was told that we could not . One dish and 2 of us could not finish . What a waste . They should manage their portions better and allow people to take the remainder home. I'm not a fan of wasting food and find this disturbing.
