Booked for New Year's Eve well in advance and received confirmation by email. However, on arrival told that food had to be pre-ordered and therefore the special menu was not available. At no point was I contacted to be informed of this and for a business to wait for customers to arrive before informing them that a booked menu is unavailable is unacceptable. We ordered from the usual pub menu but most of our preferred choices were also unavailable. The quality of the food we did have was fine and we were provided a small discount but it was not the meal we had wanted or for which we booked.

Great quiz, food was disappointing though for the price.

Absolutely loved this cute little pub. The food came quickly and was tasty and the tables upstairs were light and airy whilst the individual cellar booths downstairs were a bit darker and cosier (probably better for evening events) The pub was busy but not packed and it was a great Sunday lunch. We would definitely go back again.

We all had the Sunday Roast and the beef was good, although not as pink as we would have liked and the roast potatoes were pale and not very crispy. Large portion and were unable to tackle any of the delicious looking puddings. The atmosphere was very pleasant and we had a very enjoyable lunch.

We visited the Southwark Tavern on friday evening so it was very busy. Most of the staff were serving so we had to find our reserved table by ourselves and go in search of someone to order our food. Three of us ate and gave the food mixed reviews - the fish and chips were excellent but the steak wasn't that great as it had gristle running through it.
