With beautiful views of the Lymington River & a beer garden for sun-drenched dining in summer, The Ship Inn – Lymington is a restored pub & restaurant serving uncomplicated modern British cuisine. With marine-inspired interiors, red-brick walls & roaring log fires, the pub is a cosy hideaway in the colder months.
Sourcing ingredients from trusted local suppliers, The Ship Inn menu features wholesome recipes based around the garden, land and sea. Sample hand-pressed burgers, beef & ale pie with cardamom carrots, or sea bass with potato gnocchi, while old-school puddings include warming crumbles, custard-lathered sponges and decadent brownies. Not forgetting younger diners, a kids’ menu includes miniature versions of British classics.
A partnership with the celebrated Rothschild wine merchants means The Ship Inn cellar is stocked full with an eclectic list of world wines, while indulgent wine flights allow guests to sample a variety of bins. Seasonal beers and barrel-kept ales also feature, as well as thirst-quenching cocktails and rich coffees.
The Ship Inn Lymington is a 5-minute walk from Lymington Town Rail Station.

the booking service was great. My food was not. I tried the new vegan menu and the tart was dry and tasteless. We usually have really great food here and it was a disappointment this time.

Just so average and 'McPub'.....cold pea purée with fishcakes. Obviously frozen then deep fried fishcakes and husband's fish batter was far too thick and greasy. Such a shame, too many tables packed in.....a 'pack 'em in' attitude resulting in very mediocre food.

Slow and terrible service, mediocre food and overpriced. We ordered at 6:03pm but they wouldn't give us the deal as the order was going through 3 minutes after 6pm and it finished at 6. We had travelled a long way to dine here and were really unimpressed.

Nice setting, booked online. Attentive staff and good meal. I only had a main course which was very good.

Great meal and service considering it was the middle of a long weekend, very busy.

Have eaten here several times now and the problem is inconsistency. Sometimes good, and although last night started well the problems soon set in. An interminable wait for our main courses, which then arrived cool or cold, can only mean that they sat on the pass and were ignored for quite a while. When this place have staff that are electronically linked to the food ordering and service system how can this happen.

Lovely staff. Felix is a great asset and have experienced same level of friendliness on previous occasions from others. My hamburger was a bit overcooked but my daughter in law loved her duck leg starter.
