This is an intimate little basement place that's very charming. The staff was very attentive without hovering. Great value.

Sister restaurant to the acclaimed Two Fat Ladies, The Shandon Belles is a snug little bistro inside Glasgow's iconic Buttery building. Seasonal comfort food is served alongside a fine wine selection in a setting full of homely charm.

Modern Scottish recipes are the focus on The Shandon Belles menu, all made with carefully sourced seasonal produce from around the country. To start, there is braeburn apple, walnut and apricot salad with a creamy Hebredian cheese, as well as Stornoway black pudding, tomato and chorizo frittata. Homemade meatloaf comes with crushed herb potatoes and roast shallot jus, and there is fillet of Shetland salmon with rocket salad and a red pepper and sweet chilli dressing.

Puddings at The Shandon Belles Glasgow offer up regional and exotic flavours, and include options such as raspberry and white chocolate cheesecake with Camp Coffee syrup, and advocaat panna cotta with passionfruit caramel.

A real taste of inventive Scottish dining with a comforting homely feel, The Shandon Belles is only 2 minutes' walk from Anderston Rail Station.

Food ok but portion sizes differ greatly depending on what you order! My husband ordered the special - red Thai curry and was extremely disappointed with both the small portion and the fact that it was barely spiced. However my fish dish was more generous and tasted fine. Service was very slow, including trying to get drinks! The staff were polite and the meal was not expensive. Decor cozy but would not go back
