What better way to enjoy a Sunday than in a cosy country pub with a great selection of British roasts starting from £13.95 – served all day and evening on Sundays using the freshest seasonal ingredients.
With a working mill which dates back to the 12th century, a water wheel and beautifully landscaped decking overlooking the River Avon, The Saxon Mill is a traditional stone building which has been converted to a gastro pub, serving a menu of modern British cuisine. The open plan restaurant & bar feature log fires, stone & wooden flooring, and open kitchens, as well as a glass window cutaway in the floor, where water can be seen flowing under the building.
With chefs given the opportunity to train at cookery schools in Spain and Italy, The Saxon Mill menu features modern signature recipes made using the finest available ingredients. As well as creative daily-changing specials, favourites include king prawn, crab and chorizo linguine, or spit-roasted chicken with lemon & garlic confit. A kids’ menu and Sunday roasts also feature, and desserts include rich vanilla and chocolate gelato with home-baked cookies.
The result of a treasured partnership with Rothschild wine merchants, the cellar showcases many fine wines, while token real ales and premium spirits are found at The Saxon Mill bar in Guys Cliffe. Nostalgic British nibbles and eclectic sharing platters bursting with international flavours offer more laidback dining.
The Saxon Mill in Warwickshire is a 3-minute drive from Warwick Rail Station.

Can't fault the venue or the ambience Staff very helpful and willing to be sure we had all the accompaniments to enhance our meal A minor problem was sorted very quickly & satisfactorily We enjoyed a leisurely lunch and though we were obviously late leaving were not made to feel rushed to leave or inconvenient to the relaying of tables We shall be returning as we also consider we enjoyed good value and plates of food of a satisfying size

The venue is and will always be one of my favorites due to the beautiful surroundings, however it did take a very long time to take our order and the wait between courses was quite lengthy, I did notice how busy Sunday was, all together thoroughly enjoyable !!

overall poor service
31 May 2017
The floor by our table was dirty with spilt food, the service was very slow with inexperienced staff and there was long gaps between taking our order and each service. We asked for tap water and got a £4 bottle of mineral water instead. The restaurant was also not completely full as there were vacant tables and other people were served before us having arrived after we did. Very disappointing.
