It was the second time this year I'd treated a friend. As oreviously it was a very pleasant experience, Adam and the rest of the team looked after us extremely well with just the right level of attentiveness and we both enjoyed the outing very much indeed

Found within one of London’s most famous 5-star hotels, The Thames Foyer at The Savoy offers its acclaimed afternoon tea. A domed glass ceiling floods this space with natural light, and a live pianist offers a calming musical accompaniment.

A long-time member of the benchmark-setting Tea Guild, The Savoy’s afternoon tea is meticulously crafted in-house by resident Pastry Chef, Ludwig Hely. Enjoy a stand of finger sandwiches and homemade scones served with clotted cream, and strawberry jam made to a treasured Savoy recipe. To follow, a range of delicious seasonal-themed cakes and pastries are served tableside from a silver platter.

Rare teas sourced from China, India, Sri Lanka and Iran are served in the finest polished silverware and delicate china tea ware, while flutes of chilled champagne can be selected for an extra-indulgent afternoon tea in London. Guests can also visit the on-site patisserie, where a menagerie of sweet treats are served alongside chocolates crafted by in-house chocolatiers.

One of the capital’s most celebrated afternoon tea experiences, The Savoy on the Strand sits 5 minutes’ walk from Charing Cross station.

My wife and I spent our first night as a married couple at The Savoy in March 1979 so we have always had a special fondness for the Hotel and have been back on several occasions to dine. We took our granddaughter, Olivia, for Afternoon Tea to celebrate her 8th birthday and she was enthralled by the grandeur of it all! As always, the food and service were outstanding and our waitress, Matilda, was particularly attentive and made Olivia feel like a Princess. A fabulous experience and one we will cherish - as will Olivia!!

Excellent service, very attentive without being to overbearing. The choice of a High Tea and Afternoon tea was amazing. We chose the High Tea (more savoury options). I asked if they could decorate a plate or cake for my Mums 80th,which they did and the pianist played Happy Birthday as they presented her with it, lovely surprise for her (quite a few people also celebrating that day too).

Beautiful elegant setting to try a real English Afternoon Tea. Amazing service by staff and very delicious cakes and savory snacks. Very expensive (as to be expected) and absolutely worth it. Good prices for children.

I took my guests here to celebrate an 18th birthday and a successful job hunt after graduating university! It was magnificent. They both thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience, as did I. We had the loveliest waiter. I probably drank more tea at the Savoy than at any other time in my life due to his diligence in "topping" me up. I should apologise for pullung his leg about asking for the doggy bag!
The sandwiches were absolutely outstanding my favourite ones being whatever it was in the fabulous pesto bread ( please let me have the recipe!), and the coronation chicken. Delicious!! The scones were beautifully warm and accompanied by probably the best lemon curd I have ever had!! Gorgeous . Just sweet enough and beautifully tart! The next course if pastries just looked stunning and I really did just want to pop them in a box they looked so pretty on the tray! The chocolate cake was my favourite by far it was so rich and decadent, it just melted on your tongue .. heaven! The macaroni was by far my favourite pastry.. yes even over the chocolate cake I have just raved about! It was just magnificent! Not too sweet which is always a worry wirh macarons! Sadly I was unable to try the final selection of cakes ( hence my joke about a box!) We were all thoroughly replete after our fantastic time at The Savoy. Many many thanks for your magnifent service!

I took my parents here for a milestone birthday and they loved it, as did I. We've had a number of afternoon teas in London and Claridges had been far the best. The Savoy certainly gives it a run for its money. We were seated in the corner at what we were told was the best table which had lovely armchairs and comfortable sofa which was just the right height. Then - the food come out and just kept coming. Sandwiches were lovely but the highlight was the different pastries. One of our group can't have dairy or gluten (advised in advance) and she said the quality of her food was superb. Tea was topped up very frequently and we were looked after by Lewis who couldn't do enough. Superb service and food. Fairly costly but worth every penny and my parents day was made by sitting near to Tom Jones !
