With 2 AA Rosettes to its name, The Samuel Fox Country Inn serves modern interpretations of British classics. Having worked under several Michelin-starred chefs, head chef James Duckett has brought his creative cooking to this homely country pub.

The Samuel Fox menu is packed with flavoursome dishes that are exquisitely presented and crafted using fresh, local ingredients. Expect rich flavour combinations like pan-fried duck breast with celeriac, hazelnut and pickled red cabbage, hake with clam casserole, or pot roast guinea fowl with autumn vegetables, sage and cider. Desserts are inspired by pub favourites and include sticky toffee pudding with stout ice cream, and white chocolate custard with passion fruit.

An excellent wine menu complements the food at the Samuel Fox, many available by the glass whilst locally brewed real ales are also available. The linked bar and restaurant areas provide a warm and comfortable atmosphere, with large windows offering views over the stunning Peak District countryside.

The Samuel Fox near Bradwell is situated in the picturesque Hope Valley, at the heart of the Peak District National Park yet just 15 miles from the centre of Sheffield.

Fine dining, without being pretentious. We both had the curried parsnip and corriander soup, for starters, which was devine. We both also chose the belly pork for our main, which again was sublime, so tender and tasty, accompanied with a pork and sage croquette, cabbage, celeriac and apple. Couldn't fault it, and the presentation was equally first rate. Service was also excellent, from the friendly welcome through the whole service. We will definitely be revisiting this little gem! Thank you The Samuel Fox.

Excellent meal, friendly & good service. Catered easily with a gluten/dairy free member of our group.
Only reserve is lack of beer range? 2 were hoping for more options on tap. However didn’t spoil our evening.

We could only book an early table but we weren’t rushed into ordering. The service and food were both excellent. It was great value for 3 courses and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Would definitely recommend.

Three adults came for an early evening meal and were delighted to be offered the Early Bird menu, which offered us quite enough choice. We were then told that the evening’s special could be included in the Early Bird deal. A bonus for us all.
Our food was, as usual, extremely tasty, and delicious bread, a starter plus main was quite sufficient.
A very good choice of wines, and we were able to take home what was left in the bottle.
Service was pleasant, helpful and friendly. We will return

Food was very good and prices about right for the style and quality. On tge night we ate, a Thursday, the service was a bit slow.

The restaurant was busy and included a large party with young children so the ambiance wasn't ideal for our party of four. We had the beef cheeks which was very nice and sticky toffee pudding which was fine . The price of £29 for these two courses was rather expensive.
