Stopped here before, afternoon tea is lovely and the breakfast is divine. The staff are lovely, if you don't fancy what's on the menu, they will make you something else.
Me and my husband are that impressed with the hotel that even when it is fully booked so can't stay for the night, we've booked for afternoon tea instead. Really shouldn't be considered a 3* it's much better.

Excellent little lunch deal , £15 for 3 courses although no choices so could be a little limiting for some. Good wild mushroom risotto, rice a little beyond al dente but good flavour although a containing few unnecessary garnishes (pea shoots) which reared their head again in the next course. Nice piece of bream for the main served as a fillet in a “caesars salad”. Finished with a chocolate dessert with caramelised bananas and a banana ice cream which as a sum of its parts was very good (sorry for the lack of detail). Overall a decent meal and exeptionally good value which would encourage me to return for the ALC.

Lovely, spacious restaurant - tables placed a good distance apart. A foggy day when we visited, so didn't get to appreciate what will no doubt be a spectacular view of the lake.A varied menu and attentive staff. The food was delicious, ( I had the belly pork and homemade black pudding, my wife had the confit duck leg. We both had the rhubarb and gingerbread for pudding ) and the presentation lovely. My only criticism is that the portion sizes are really small.
