A colourful venue spread out across two floors, The Rum Kitchen Notting Hill offers laid-back Caribbean vibes for the whole family. Tuck into jerk chicken specialities, or move downstairs to the basement to try something from the huge rum selection, all to a proper reggae soundtrack.

The Rum Kitchen menu pulls together all the Caribbean favourites, with plenty of colour and spice. Nibble on jerk wings, island-spiced fried squid and sweetcorn fritters, before moving on to signature jerk chicken served with additions like gravy, sweet potato mash and pineapple. There are towering burgers, and larger plates with mouthwatering flavours like red snapper, West Indian veg curry, and shredded salads with exotic fruits.

A massive selection of imported rums are served from the bar at The Rum Kitchen in Notting Hill, which go into the celebrated cocktail list filled with signature creations. There are also beers from Jamaica and Barbados, and plenty of soft drinks too.

With its colourful, rustic beach shack style and bustling ambience, The Rum Kitchen is a proper Caribbean restaurant in London. Ladbroke Grove Tube Station is a 7-minute walk away.

Staff was friendly and very attentive, smiling and making you feel at ease. The food was the best, the flavouring and portion sizes was well worth the money. The atmosphere, nice and cosy.

The food and atmosphere were great, however, my friend ordered extra sauce and it was put on my plate. I assumed this was part of my meal, she then had to wait for another sauce. Even though we were given the table for two hours, we felt very rushed by the waiters and waitresses. Not everyone wants to eat and be shood off, we wanted to enjoy our conversation and not feel like we had to leave after only an hour.

Service was poor and had to wait ages for drinks. On three occasions they got the drinks wrong. Some of the staff need re-training in customer service. The food was good.

Fantastic atmosphere. Red snapper and jerk chicken a must have. Good portion sizes and worth going early for the discounted cocktails. Only thing that let it down was the length of time the food took to be served.

I can see the restaurant has a big potential, however, sadly my experience wasn't amazing. As we got late our table was taken (which is fine), but the table instead was downstairs and it was a very weird atmosphere because of the football screening. We had to wait way too long to have our order taken and then almost 1h to get the food. We thought it's because of too many people upstairs, but when leaving the upstairs area wasn't busy at all. I really enjoyed my dish (fried chicken) but sadly had to exchange with my boyfriend for his mutton curry. Although it's his fault (I asked him to double check with the waiter), he got deceived as many dishes were saying "spicy" so since this curry didn't he assumed this isn't hot, and he can't stand much heat :) The drinks were amazing, I would definitely come back to try some more. But this time won't be late and would come less hungry to survive the wait time :D

Food excellent, service slow as one of my party's meal was ready but not collected for a while and 3 waiters couldn't sort it!! Good greeting on entry, nice atmosphere and waitress was lovely.

This place has the worse service I have ever seen. We were six people on a Friday night, the waitress came at our table soon after we visited the place. She took our orders quite quickly but then our drinks came after we have eaten despite several times speaking to her and asking for our drinks. One hour waiting for 2 beers, 3 glasses of wine and one cocktail!! The place was crowded but not so much to spend so much time for drinks that did not need any preparation. I asked for an empty glass to have tap water for half an hour with no result. In the end, I had to go at the bar to take it and when the waitress saw me she said to me that she will bring it and yes after a minute she came with two glasses.

The food was ok, nothing special, a place to avoid in London.
