Food excellent, service slow as one of my party's meal was ready but not collected for a while and 3 waiters couldn't sort it!! Good greeting on entry, nice atmosphere and waitress was lovely.

A colourful venue spread out across two floors, The Rum Kitchen Notting Hill offers laid-back Caribbean vibes for the whole family. Tuck into jerk chicken specialities, or move downstairs to the basement to try something from the huge rum selection, all to a proper reggae soundtrack.

The Rum Kitchen menu pulls together all the Caribbean favourites, with plenty of colour and spice. Nibble on jerk wings, island-spiced fried squid and sweetcorn fritters, before moving on to signature jerk chicken served with additions like gravy, sweet potato mash and pineapple. There are towering burgers, and larger plates with mouthwatering flavours like red snapper, West Indian veg curry, and shredded salads with exotic fruits.

A massive selection of imported rums are served from the bar at The Rum Kitchen in Notting Hill, which go into the celebrated cocktail list filled with signature creations. There are also beers from Jamaica and Barbados, and plenty of soft drinks too.

With its colourful, rustic beach shack style and bustling ambience, The Rum Kitchen is a proper Caribbean restaurant in London. Ladbroke Grove Tube Station is a 7-minute walk away.

This place has the worse service I have ever seen. We were six people on a Friday night, the waitress came at our table soon after we visited the place. She took our orders quite quickly but then our drinks came after we have eaten despite several times speaking to her and asking for our drinks. One hour waiting for 2 beers, 3 glasses of wine and one cocktail!! The place was crowded but not so much to spend so much time for drinks that did not need any preparation. I asked for an empty glass to have tap water for half an hour with no result. In the end, I had to go at the bar to take it and when the waitress saw me she said to me that she will bring it and yes after a minute she came with two glasses.

The food was ok, nothing special, a place to avoid in London.

The food was great, however the service left us feeling a little underwhelmed. Starters (wings) were brought promptly, soon followed by one of our mains. We waited for a while and then enquired about the other main, to be told that the order hadn't gone through to the kitchen (there was an apology), however it would be 2-3 min max for it to arrive to our table. After a 15-20 minute wait the other main was finally brought out (no further apology on wait time). We were asked how our meal was (it was great), however not asked if we wanted more water throughout our sitting. By the end we felt quite rushed as staff asked us if we were finished multiple times, as well as the bill being bought to the table without request. When we asked if we could sit at the bar to have a drink, the waitress said that there was a large group there and it didn't appear that there was enough room which was a bit of a disappointing response. The restaurant could really do with a rum list which seemed strange not to have one going by the name. Overall, we enjoyed the food, but the service seemed a bit lax and disinterested. Thanks heaps for having us - however I probably wont be rushing back.

Quite small restaurant, space was an issue. Lighting needed to be more brighter. Staff friendly enough. The food was lovely.

Great customer service, the lady who showed us to our table also served our food and was so lovely at both (unfortunately I did not get her name). The food was O.K. I was not a fan of the starters however the main was much better. The cocktails were fab! I would come back to the restaurant again but just for the staff.

First time here food was so nice! Everyone working there was really nice. Will defo be returning. Recommendation would be putting some more cocktails on the happy hour list as these were all quite sweet.
