Previously an 18th-century coaching inn, The Rose & Crown in Dunton Green offers great British pub cuisine on the landmark North Downs. With an appealing whitewashed exterior and classic wood features, but tasteful, blue mood lighting and sleek furniture, The Rose & Crown features the best of old and new. You can enjoy the food next to the cosy hearth-fire or in the pretty beer garden.
Hearty Sunday roasts and trusty British dishes head The Rose & Crown menu, and a range just for kids offers mini versions of pub favourites. Signature Vintage pies offer fillings like beef & merlot with buttered peas, while The Rose & Crown ‘Vintage classics’ menu includes lemon & garlic-roasted chicken with seasoned chips.
Paying homage to the Great British pub, the Vintage Inn bar stock includes cask-conditioned beers, real ales and a meticulously compiled wine list. Thirst-quenching offerings include seasonal non-alcoholic cocktails and freshly-pressed juices, and rich coffee is brewed freshly throughout the day.
At just a 13-minute walk into central Dunton Green or 6 minutes’ driving to Sevenoaks, The Rose & Crown is a welcoming country retreat.

It is always a pleasure to visit the rose and crown . The two experienced waiters are excellent and always make you feel welcome. Food was ok but veg could have been cooked a bit more.

We had to wait quiet a while for the food to be served, but it was very busy, that Sunday. Andy was very helpful and pleasant, Drinks were served at the table as soon as orders.

Our experience wasn't great. Our table wasn't ready and we had to ask when it might be, we were then taken to a table which wasn't in the restaurant and which had no cutlery or menus. We were then left for a good 20 minutes (having got our own menus from the bar). It was clearly very busy and there were too few staff. Because we had waited so long we skipped starters and had the roast which was nice, but could have been hotter, we then ordered desert and coffee, the coffee never came. I had to go to the bar to get a drink and to pay the bill. overall a very disappointing mothers day meal (not the poor staff's fault but the management for not having enough staff for the volume of people booked in). Will not be returning in a hurry.

We have eaten here on a number of occasions and never been disappointed. The food is much better than the average pub and the service friendly and helpful.

Lovely laid out pub. Great food with great presentation. Soup of the day is great. Offered roast duck on Sunday as an alternative. Great staff. Been back twice now but will go again and again!

Very disappointing as the menu was very limited and the service extremely poor. On arrival we were told there was no soup or sea bass. After ordering, the waitress returned to tell us the beef was not available as it would not be ready for another hour and neither was the steak pie which was to be made with the beef! we waited an hour for the meal and were offered free puddings due to the limited menu. One person ordered cheese but was told all the cheeses may not be available as the cheese plate was not often ordered. Only 2 cheeses were available rather than four.

Food was very nice on 2 previous occasions but they'd run out of lamb shank which I was so looking forward to!! I ended up having a burger yet again!! My husband is a vegetarian and very disappointed with lack of choice everywhere we go. He ended up with boring fish and chips again as he said their veggie burgers are very dry! Service very good though. However Don't think we'll going back any time soon.
