An excellent experience. Food was very good, and not bad value. Had a little problem with the desserts, but it was resolved very quickly. The kids loved it and a good time was had by all. Aaron the waiter was BRILLIANT

A truly unique dining experience at Alton Towers Resort, The Rollercoaster Restaurant is set underneath a vast rollercoaster track that carries meals to the table via gravity-defying loop-the-loops and spiral drops. Entry to the theme park is not required in the evening to dine in the restaurant.

A great selection of hearty grill recipes and international twists can be found on The Rollercoaster Restaurant menu. To start, there are premium flavours such as lobster tail cocktail, and smoked paprika-dusted calamari, giving way to gourmet burgers served in brioche buns with seasoned fries. There are slow-cooked pork ribs, 10oz ribeye steaks, as well as exotic additions, such as the Bombay butter chicken curry. There are also special kids' menus, offering smaller portions of the adult mains, along with their own dedicated recipes.

For dessert, The Rollercoaster Restaurant Alton Towers Resort offers up sharing options like the indulgent chocolate fondue, or individual treats like potted lemon curd cheesecake.

The Rollercoaster Restaurant is a unique blend of dining and theatrics, with Stoke-on-Trent sitting a 30-minute drive away.

Me and my daughter enjoyed a lovely meal. Very exciting for my daughter (who’s 7) to see her dinner arrive on tracks and do a loop the loop! Staff were very welcoming and good in explaining how the order system works. Takes a couple of times before you completely know how to remove the pots from the track but all good fun.
Restaurant was smaller than I thought it would be and you share one rollercoaster track per 3-tables of 4. Menu is quite minimal and not much choice for children BUT we enjoyed every minute of our experience. Thankyou :)

It was lovely experience. Children's menus came with chips which I didn't realise at time of ordering so I'd ordered extra side chips. Also food arrived sporadically so we didn't all eat together. Children enjoyed collecting the food off the rollercoaster. We had a table which they said was for 5 but was a bit of a squeeze. It took quite a long time for staff to see I needed help with our order. I had to wave frantically to get someone's attention as they were busy chatting. Good experience as a one off but I wouldn't go again. Food for children was quite good quality but grown up pasta was a bit disappointing

It was fantastic. The whole place was exciting with flashing lights, ride sound tracks & short film footage, fitting in perfectly in Alton towers! Food was served down a track of twists & loops to our table and, surprisingly, the food was still well presented & tasted delicious! The staff were friendly, there was a good choice, the portion sizes were great, the kids menu was perfect & the prices were reasonable (especially with the Merlin Annual Pass 20% discount).

Expensive for what it is but food was nice. It’s great to watch the food come down the track. Ease to order using iPads. Kids loved it. The jelly pond is a must for little kids and big kids alike. You may feel a little penned in when it’s busy.

Amazingly fantastic experience. Food average quality. Drinks extortionate.

Situated inside the Alton Towers theme park this restaurant certainly has a USP in that your food is delivered by rollercoaster rails directly to your table. The kids thought it was fantastically entertaining from the ordering (by tablet - no human interaction required!) to the delivery; you can watch your food approaching and wizzing down the rails directly to a lazy suzan at your table/pod for you to distribute. if your at the right table then your food can even do a corkscrew style loop the loop.
The food itself was a bit of a let down; think low end service station rather than fine dining. Although most of the food was fine when it arrived, some of it certainly suffers for the delivery method. I had a treacle sponge and custard pudding which looked like it had been delivered by rollercoaster..
The restaurant is lit by frequently changing LED lighting which whilst great for the ambiance can make some of your food look a bit odd (chicken bathed in blue and pink light tends to look a bit frightful!).
It's certainly worth visiting for the novelty factor but you are unlikely to go back twice.
We had 2 kids meals and 2 three course adult meals and paid £100.25.

The menu is very limited, so having numerous items unavailable is pretty poor. The food was nice but overpriced for what it is. We also had no cutlery, glasses or napkins at our table which wasn’t great.

Fab concept, great fun, food not amazing but the experience more than makes up for it.

The environment was great and the service was excellent. The food wasn’t good. I will be back at Alton Towers but I won’t visit this restaurant again.
