Nestled on the banks of the River Great Ouse, and with al fresco seating gifting tranquil views, The Rivermill is a stunning waterside pub and restaurant housed inside a Grade II-listed former watermill. Inventive British and European recipes are served, as well as regional ales and world beers.

The finest seasonal ingredients go into the Rivermill menu, with light starters including baked portobello mushroom, feta and sun blushed tomato crumble. Fresh seafood is given continental twists, such as the medallions of monkfish in chorizo crumb, with chickpea and Mediterranean tagine. From the grill, there are succulent steaks, as well as homemade burgers with onion rings and sweet potato fries.

Sumptuous desserts at The Rivermill Cambridgeshire include signature Eton mess with Malteasers and salted caramel, while from the bar there are regional cask ales and a selection of international wines.

Offering a beautiful waterside setting and friendly rural welcome, The Rivermill sits 12 minutes' drive from St Neots Rail Station.

The food was very good, we all had the roast, meat (pork) was perfectly cooked, I found the red cabbage combination of veg not to my liking as it tasted a bit spicy and I don’t particularly like spicies and I don’t think there was a mention of spice in the menu. Service was good but had to ask twice for water and also for napkins as they were not on the table and then they were small drink ones. I think the young lady serving us perhaps was new or inexperienced.

A lovely restaurant in a gorgeous riverside setting. We dined on a Saturday lunchtime. It was a pity that only the lunch menu was offered and not the a la carte menu too. The lunch menu consists of only sandwiches and burgers which is unfortunate as we had friends visiting and would have preferred a more substantial menu. It should be made more obvious on the website that only the lunch menu will be available. It was also very quiet, we were the only table eating!

Excellent food in a lovely setting by the river. Good to visit just for a drink too!

Lovely location. On arrival the upstairs restaurant area we had booked was not open despite the booking allocating this to us. Shown to another area. Very busy by 12.30 but insufficient staff to be effective.
Fire alarm went off as we waited for the food, fatty smell from kitchen unpleasant.
Need wider Sunday choice as menu limited with no main fish dishes alternative to meats.

It was a good meal. We often come here when camping and it never disappoints.

We had an excellent light lunch at the River mill. The food, service and drinks were first rate. It was a very warm day so we sat inside with air-conditioning that worked well. The location was most interesting.
