Having hosted royalty and famous actors, The River Wyre has a distinguished history of serving classic British food in an eye-catching country setting, also close to the River Wyre. A grand and beautiful building, The River Wyre features vintage white with black timber, and a rustic yet modern interior. Along with the sleek sofas and clean, contemporary furniture, there is cosy seating by the hearth and in the pretty beer garden.
Hearty Sunday roasts and trusty British dishes head The River Wyre menu, and a range just for kids offers mini versions of pub favourites. Signature Vintage pies offer fillings like beef & merlot with buttered peas, while The River Wyre ‘Vintage classics’ menu includes lemon & garlic-roasted chicken with seasoned chips.
Paying homage to the Great British pub, the Vintage Inn bar stock includes cask-conditioned beers, real ales and a meticulously compiled wine list. Thirst-quenching offerings include seasonal non-alcoholic cocktails and freshly-pressed juices, and rich coffee is brewed freshly throughout the day.
The River Wyre is just a 12-minute walk from Poulton-Le-Fylde Train Station, near to the sea, but in the lush countryside of Lancashire.

I was greeted as I entered and led to our table by a window as requested. The staff were friendly and we all felt welcome and relaxed. The food was excellent. Steaks cooked to perfection. Fish and chips also well cooked. Could not fault it. Would definitely return. A very pleasant dining experience. Excellent service. Well done!

Had a great meal. Restaurant was very busy but staff were friendly and helpful. We had 2 children in our party and they were well catered for.

Friendly and helpful staff. We all had Roast beef Sunday lunch which was good, plenty of gravy, sadly the Yorkshire puddings were burnt, beef was tasty, vegetables were nice.

Lovely place was sat on a large square table for 8 people it was great we could all talk better than being on a long table and not being able to talk to everyone in the group. Food was delicious all 8 of us enjoyed it. Will be returning.

Had a lovely lunch to catch up with friends. Good table, very relaxed and excellent service. Friend had the chicken curry which she said was 'OK' but didn't like the accompanying vegetables. I reminded her that they may be traditional where the curry originates. The waiter didn't know where the curry came from. All in all a lovely time.
