I had a 3 coarse meal, the starter was my least favourite of the meal, the cauliflower could of been cooked a little more and I just felt the flatbread was a little thick and dence and I didn’t feel there was any cumin taste to themeal, my main was my favourite coarse of my entire stay it was amazing and every mouth was delicious I could of licked it he plate clean, the pudding was just as good, the waitress was as good as the food

Good food, well cooked, nice environment, priced appropriately.
Service generally ok, but they were probably busier than they were staffed for, so a couple of minor errors, but nothing major.

Good meal for myself and my wife. We both felt that the meal was very good but would have benefitted from the food and the plates being a little hotter. Good service, friendly staff, pleasant ambience. In all a very pleasant restaurant.

After actually moving my booking to an hour later (we were running behind), Charlton House staff were warm, welcoming and couldn’t have done more for us.

We arrived and were placed in a beautiful location by the windows in the restaurant looking out over the gardens (after being given the option of the lounge or the restaurant), and the staff were prompt when asking about dietary requests/requirements. They catered for every request we had and we enjoyed a gorgeous afternoon tea with a couple of glasses of prossecco for my partner.

I have to specifically mention the waitress, who had a fantastic manner in dealing with me and my fiancé. As with all staff she was very welcoming but provided what I consider to be a very personal service which as I say - adapted to mine and my partner’s wishes.

The food was beautiful too; particularly the scones which were perfection but it has to be said: the service was the thing that stood out most to me so I will definitely be returning and suggesting Charlton House to others. Thank you for a lovely little birthday treat for me and my partner who don’t get much time to ourselves because of a toddler!

We had a very good meal in the restaurant. The service was friendly and very attentive. We had 3 courses and all of the food was well cooked to our total satisfaction. The Sauvignon blanc from NZ was also a good choice. The cod loin main was enjoyed by us all. No complaints and would recommend the restaurant.

However, the furniture in the lounge area is tired and needs to be replaced to give the right impression on arrival before going into the restaurant.

We went for afternoon tea, the finger sandwiches were obviously made before as cold n dry round the edges there was so much margarine in them that's all you could taste, the tarts the pastry was so hard and filling too runny with a topping of melon, the cupcakes were smaller than fairy cakes with a large amount of tasteless icing, the macaroons where tasteless and the so called brownie was more like a bitter chocolate mouse. The scone was nice but had been precooked then cooked again so crunchy on the outside. We asked for extra sandwiches as we only had four small ones each when we complained at the end we were told we would not be charged for the extra sandwiches and were given 10% off the after tea was £19 each I would not recommend this place to anyone the only thing which made it ok was the company of my mother and daughter.
