Service a bit slow which was a surprise as it wasn't overly busy, food was not up to usual standard. Disappointing overall.

The Red Lion is one of my favourite restaurants. But oh dear Thursday (my birthday) was not good. We both ordered Gammon Eggs and chips, one order was eggs over easy,we waited a while but of course it was busy. When our order came the gammon was over cooked and dry the eggs were hard. We both agreed to complain. We were told that was the way gammon was cooked, we disagreed. We were asked if we wanted another order we said yes one slice of gammon and one egg. When it arrived the gammon was lovely and the eggs just right. The Staff came over to see if all was ok,and yes it was. I will still continue to use The Red Lion. Regards Mary Collins

Has dinner here last night and loved it, beautiful festive atmosphere, cosy Xmas decore, and a lovely festive menu. They Were unable to make some of the festive drinks and they didn't have the ingredients but apart from that the food was lovely, full of flavour and would definitely dine here again.

Staff were great and service prompt but the food was a big let down found the portabella mushroom starter very oily wich left an unpleasant taste in my mouth and the belly pork was tough and the mash potato was light brown in colour and not very pleasant to eat,on the good side the slice of crackling and the beans were good. Found the Doombar beer was great so another plus there. Would have second thoughts about going to the Red Lion to eat.
