In a lovely location, very near Earlswood lakes to walk round after food. Open, light and airy interior, with a lot of tables and different types of seating for formal and informal dining, or just a drink. Friendly, helpful staff. All in all, a lovely experience.

Formerly an 18th-century coaching inn, The Red Lion – Solihull embraces the rural charm of its setting, near to Earlswood Resevoir Lakes, and serves traditional British pub cuisine. With a classic white and black timber design, both the surrounding countryside and the pub itself can be enjoyed from the beer garden. Inside, there is also seating by the warming log-fire, and endearing rustic decorations.
Hearty Sunday roasts and trusty British dishes head The Red Lion menu, and a range just for kids offers mini versions of pub favourites. Signature Vintage pies offer fillings like beef & merlot with buttered peas, while The Red Lion ‘Vintage classics’ menu includes lemon & garlic-roasted chicken with seasoned chips.
Paying homage to the Great British pub, the Vintage Inn bar stock includes cask-conditioned beers, real ales and a meticulously compiled wine list. Thirst-quenching offerings include seasonal non-alcoholic cocktails and freshly-pressed juices, and rich coffee is brewed freshly throughout the day.
The Red Lion is just 3 minutes’ drive from The Lakes (Warks) Train Station, or 12 minutes to central Solihull, nestled in the West Midlands countryside.

we had a table for 4 on saturday evening at 7 o,clock, it did not start well as the first beer i asked for was off, we were shown to our table and the first thing the waitress said was have you been told what we don't have there's no lamb, sea bass or any meal that comes with couscous they were all on there so called signature dish menu. we orderd our food around 7.15 three starters as my mother is not a big eater she declined, 20 -25 minutes later they arrived and were very good. however at 8.20 we enquired as to what the delay was with the main course and were told it was next out 5-10 minutes, at 8.30 we enquired again and told next out 5-10 minutes, well they were not worth waiting for my mothers roast chicken dinner and remember she had waited nearly an hour and a half for it was not hot, the 2 duck suppers my partner and her mother had were over cooked and like rubber and my fish and chips there was a lot of batter not much fish which was under cooked they did offer us free dessert but by now the evening was ruined so we paid the bill and left. we have eaten here before and it's been ok needless to say we will not be returning and not recommending it to anyone.

Good choice on menu. Order for food was taken quickly but when food was delivered to table the food was wrong. As well as two other dishes which were correct we ordered a chicken and mushroom pizza with the chips and a side order of salad and a mixed grill that should have come with chips. We were presented with a ham and something pizza with no accompaniments and a mixed grill with salad in a bowl on the plate and no chips. The pizza went back and the salad was transferred to the person who order the pizza and side salad and chips were later brought out for the mixed grill. However the replacement pizza didn't arrive until everyone else had nearly finished their meal.

Quiet weekday evening meal, restaurant needs new carpet as smells stale/damp.
Meal average, service very good. Price good. Have had better at pub previously.

Atmosphere was lovely and pub felt welcoming. Greeting at bar was a while. Waiter although friendly forgot one drink so came back to check then when drinks arrived another drink was wrong. (Make a note of drinks order total 4 drinks) food arrived after an hours wait and only when chased. This meal was for my daughters eighteenth £100 cost disappointed. Food was on par with a sizzler

l have enjoyed most of the mains over the years of visiting the Red Lion, but l chose the whole sea bass off the menu on my last visit, l suppose l should have expected it to be unfilleted but l didn't, so when it arrived my meal was spoilt by mouthfuls of bones each time l ate the fish, l eventually gave up after attempting to eat one side of the fillet, with only a few new potatoes left to eat l went home very hungry.
