A charming riverside pub dating back to the early 18th century, The Red Lion Shepperton is a wonderful mix of rustic tradition and quirky contemporary style. There is a cosy snug at the back of the pub to relax in, and al fresco seating for the warmer weather.
The Red Lion menu is overseen by award-winning chef James Thomson, and uses fresh, seasonal produce. The day kicks off with coffee made by the in-house barista, on top of classic brunch items like eggs benedict, waffles, and bloody marys. Later, there are wholesome British recipes such as smoked haddock with Welsh rarebit and leek fondue, as well as turkey, ham and black pudding pie with mashed potatoes and kale.
Three different kinds of Sunday roasts at The Red Lion Shepperton are popular draws, and the dessert menu offers classics such as sticky toffee pudding with clotted cream ice cream, and a comprehensive cheese board. From the bar, there are gourmet snacks like pork crackling with apple sauce, as well as a full wine list, world beers and ales.
Blending traditional pub comfort with quirky touches, The Red Lion is a 14-minute walk from Shepperton Rail Station.

The food was great and so was the ambience! but the service was frustrating! Took way too long to order and had to keep getting up to get the waitress. It wasn’t busy either!

Excellent food. Service could have been a bit quicker, but it was professional and friendly.

The restaurant was modestly busy, we were warmly greeted following a drink in the lively bar. Efficient drink and food order processing. Mussels and Hot wings to start - mussels - top drawer, wings could have done with being a little crispier (but that's being really picky). followed by solid mains of John dory and monk fish. Well proportioned wine list, coupled with interesting menu choices, happy kitchen and front of house staff - Thoroughly recommend a visit, clean and cosy feeling well run local gastro pub.

The food was excellent could not fault the meal in any way. Entering and exiting the property was not as wheelchair friendly as I was led to believe.

This was our first visit and we loved it. The menu was really interesting featuring large and small dishes and daily specials. My wife particularly liked 'Hare' whilst I thought the Friday special of battered fish was superb.
