Very good food. Delicious Bengali prawn curry, which three of our party had. Duck samosas a particularly tasty starter.
Service a bit on the slow side, but very friendly.

The Red Fort is currently closed due to lease expiry, and will re-open when a new premises has been found.

A Soho institution, the Red Fort has served renowned Indian cuisine on Dean Street since 1983. From the open kitchen, chefs use traditional grills and tandoor ovens to produce exciting but authentic food.

The Red Fort menu uses fresh British produce to create a range of traditional and contemporary dishes. Try slow-cooked lamb shank in nutmeg, cinnamon and bay leaf sauce, marinated loin of venison with clove, ginger, garlic and peppercorns, or roasted rabbit with mustard, chili, fennel and onion seeds. Aromatic fish dishes include steamed fillet of black cod in banana leaf with chili, garlic and coriander, and an enticing dish of scallop, squid, stone bass and king prawn in a spicy fennel, carom and coconut sauce. A range of vegetarian options is also available.

Decorated in rich red, The Red Fort Soho is befitting of its vibrant surroundings. A sommelier-selected wine list and signature cocktails amplify its sophistication.

In the heart of one of London’s most exciting areas, The Red Fort Indian restaurant is a 6-minute walk from Tottenham Court Road Tube Station.

We had heard a lot about the Red Fort and were excited to dine here. And disappointed. The food itself was excellent - well most of it was - don't order a latte - and my brothers cup of tea came as a bag in a cup - any my chai was a milk cup of something which had maybe been shown a cardamom pod!
When we arrived our table wasn't ready and we were left waiting while it was cleared - this took some time and we weren't offered a drink and there was nowhere for us to sit and wait. The waiting staff kept leaning over us to put things on the table, even though there was plenty of room to move around. We had to ask twice for our wine. It was a cold night and the door was frequently left open which left us freezing - being in direct line to the gale that was blowing in. We had to get up ourselves several times to close it. The toilet was dirty.
It seemed as though they didn't care much and this was reflected in their attitude and service.
As I say, the food was ok, but it wasn't ok enough to outshine the rest.

My food was very well crafted and had good balance of spices. My friends Byriani was a dissapointment with to little lamb and an over abundance of rice.
Service was haphazard and not up to the standards you should expect. I’ve
Had lots better service in my local Indian.

We had 2 course lunch menu for £15 and it was the best Indian food we had for a very long time. The portions were just right, a good mix of grill and curries and a few options of sides to top up. A very decent winelist for someone to impress their clients, ambience is good for business meetings.
Would definitely come back and recommend to my colleagues.

It was our second time at The Red and we were very happy to come back! The dinner, yesterday, was very good, the white wine cold perfect, the waiter very kind. We ordered a tasting menu and only the starters seemed to be less interesting as usual. All the rest, very tasty! The Red still remains a beautiful restaurant and we're going back!

Food was good we were at the back with a large hen party so a lot on noise. The air-conditioning was not working so it ruined the meal as it was unpleasantly hot

was expecting something a bit more upmarket from the pictures. limited choices with food, all lovely and fresh but very spicy
