Offering a trendy take on Greek ‘street food’ The Real Greek Covent Garden is surrounded by the arty bustle of Theatreland. In the light-filled dining room, glossy communal benches and drop-bulb lighting evoke a cool, underground vibe.

Showcasing robust flavours, The Real Greek menu presents an array of wholesome specialities. Ideal for sharing, tasty hot and cold mezes sit alongside souvlaki served straight from the grill. Favourites from the wide selection include juicy tiger prawns with chilli and garlic butter, or handmade British lamb patties with tahini sauce.

Extending tradition through to the dessert menu, The Real Greek restaurant offers a tantalisingly sweet selection, from Greek lemon cake drizzled with honey-infused syrup, to luxurious homemade baklava. Family-friendly The Real Greek London offers a fun meze and skewer selection, just for kids.

Perched next to the hub of the market square, The Real Greek is a 4-minute walk from Covent Garden Tube Station.

Great atmosphere and value for money. Tables way to close to be comfortable; when cosy becomes cramped.

The worst restaurant experience I have ever had. We arrived several minutes ahead of our booking but were forced to wait outside in the cold, unable to enter due to other waiting guests crammed in on the other side of the door. After gaining the attention of the manager through the window, we eventually entered, but our table was not ready despite being in touch with the manager 15 minutes earlier and being assured it would be ready in 10 minutes.. The restaurant was very claustrophobic with far too many tables crammed in - there was no waiting area, so we were stood in the centre of the restaurant squashed against seated diners. We were constantly moved from side to side as waiting staff barged past with no apologies. One particularly rude member of staff told us we were in the way, despite the fact that we were directed by the manager to wait and he could offer no alternative place for us to wait. After a further fifteen minutes, we were eventually seated, but next to a door with a strong smell of toilets and bleach. At this point we had enough and left to go to an alternative restaurant.

Absolute wonderful experience..food divine..service exceptional...typical of a Greek welcome. Great value for money in central London.

The food is good, and comes out very quickly. Perfect for before the opera. Only thing that could improve is it is a very cramped restaurant, so you can hear the conversation at the next table. Maybe they could make just a little bit more space? The set menus are very good value. The wine list is very reasonable.

Very good and friendly service. Staff very attentive and quick. Food was lovely, went there twice before and great location - just around the corner from the Royal Opera House. Great for pre-theatre dining.
Downstairs quiet but very near the restrooms.

Absolutely loved it. Very authentic, food delicious!! Only criticism is that we sat at a table for 2 near the LH side wall and I felt very cramped. Will certainly book again
