Housed in a lodge dating back to 1650 and boasting a large beer garden for sun-drenched dining in summer, The Rams Head is a traditional pub & restaurant in the village of Disley. Inside, peaked arches & wooden ceiling beams inspire architectural interest, and there are plenty of soft armchairs by the fireplaces to cosy up and enjoy a hearty modern British meal.
Sourcing ingredients from trusted local suppliers, The Rams Head menu features wholesome recipes based around the garden, land and sea. Sample hand-pressed burgers, beef & ale pie with cardamom carrots, or sea bass with potato gnocchi, while old-school puddings include warming crumbles, custard-lathered sponges and decadent brownies. Not forgetting younger diners, a kids’ menu includes miniature versions of British classics.
A partnership with the celebrated Rothschild wine merchants means The Rams Head cellar is stocked full with an eclectic list of world wines, while indulgent wine flights allow guests to sample a variety of bins. Seasonal beers and barrel-kept ales also feature, as well as thirst-quenching cocktails and rich coffees.
The Rams Head in Stockport is a 2-minute walk from Disley Rail Station.

The food and service were excellent. One small comment was that the 4 rib lamb was very fatty. However, we did feel the table was a bit small (and was originally laid for 4 which would have been very crowded) and in a "corridor" such that there was constant people traffic on both sides of the table. We did arrive 10 mins early but initially the room was quite cold and candles and fire unlit.

We enjoyed the food. Megan served us we were really impressed she was cheerful and friendly when ordering more drinks she
knew what we had been drinking without us asking. the only downside was the service was really slow.

We were staying at a Spa Hotel nearby and the dinning experience was one not to be repeated so we went online to find somewhere close by. The Rams Head, Disley looked inviting but we never imagined quite how good it was going to be. Our experience was FANTASTIC, the menu was refreshingly varied and although neither of us are Veggie we were happy to see a better than average choice for those that are. From the Rustic Bread with Olives and Dukha through a starter of Squid and the Belly Pork main it was a gastronomically delightful. Bar staff and Waiter Chris were friendly and attentive without intruding. The atmosphere (Thursday evening) was nice for our meal not too quiet but not bouncing either. I'd you are in the area and have opportunity DO NOT MISS OUT, I seriously doubt the Rams Head will disappoint you.

We dined at the Rams Head, Disley in the evening for a wedding anniversary meal. We thoroughly enjoyed the extensive menu (we were spoilt for choice). Both the food and the service were extremely good and although it was busy the staff took time to ensure that we enjoyed our evening.
