What better way to enjoy a Sunday than in a cosy country pub with a great selection of British roasts starting from £6.95 – served all day and evening on Sundays using the freshest seasonal ingredients.
Housed in a lodge dating back to 1650 and boasting a large beer garden for sun-drenched dining in summer, The Rams Head is a traditional pub & restaurant in the village of Disley. Inside, peaked arches & wooden ceiling beams inspire architectural interest, and there are plenty of soft armchairs by the fireplaces to cosy up and enjoy a hearty modern British meal.
Sourcing ingredients from trusted local suppliers, The Rams Head menu features wholesome recipes based around the garden, land and sea. Sample hand-pressed burgers, beef & ale pie with cardamom carrots, or sea bass with potato gnocchi, while old-school puddings include warming crumbles, custard-lathered sponges and decadent brownies. Not forgetting younger diners, a kids’ menu includes miniature versions of British classics.
A partnership with the celebrated Rothschild wine merchants means The Rams Head cellar is stocked full with an eclectic list of world wines, while indulgent wine flights allow guests to sample a variety of bins. Seasonal beers and barrel-kept ales also feature, as well as thirst-quenching cocktails and rich coffees.
The Rams Head in Stockport is a 2-minute walk from Disley Rail Station.

Hi ! Very good service, excellent food
29 December 2018
We were placed in a room with two other tables of 8 each with four children. A bit like being in a crèche. Restaurant was extremely busy and the staff were swamped. Each course took ages to come. Even the drinks and the sweets. We booked for 1.30 and eventually finished eating at 4.30. Two of the sweets were still frozen. They weren’t meant to be. The baked Alaska has come straight out of the fridge/ freezer. Service staff were polite and doing their best. Just don’t book if it is likely to be busy.

The food and service were both good, set menu on Father’s Day was good value for money the only downside from an enjoyable visit was the number of items unavailable from the menu.

The Ram's Head has a lovely atmosphere and the staff are very friendly. We were disappointed with the food last night though as the mains were all over done and my salad garnish frazzled by being under the heat lamps too long

The setting was warm and welcoming, bar staff keen to ensure guests were served. When asking for our table there was No name against my booking on the system despite phoning to confirm the internet booking. The food was to a good standard although only 6 meals arrived and had to wait a while for the last one meaning the others were cold. Waitresses were friendly although a little hard to locate despite the restaurant not being overly busy. Probably a 6 out of 10 experience.

We had a wonderful meal. 3 ladies having an over due catch-up. The sticky chicken was delightful. The steak and ale pie was delicious and my steak and chips was perfect. The staff were extremely helpful, they even swapped my friends fries for twice cooked chips without hesitation. We will definitely be back
