Restaurant description

One of London's select few Michelin-starred south Indian restaurants, The Quilon Restaurant presents refined south west coastal Indian cuisine, displaying an intense passion for fresh and exotic seafood, meat and vegetarian specialities.

Characterised by a colonial-style air of timeless elegance, Quilon Restaurant London prides itself on creating experimental Indian dishes. Fine speciality beers complement the fine dishes, and the exceptional wine list has been prized with Wine Spectator's prestigious annual Award of Excellence, every year since 2009.

The Quilon menu features creations like seared fillet of monkfish with juicy scallops and a delicate mustard sauce, slow cooked pistachio lamb or marinated tilapia roasted in banana leaf. Sweet decadences at Quilon near Westminster include lentil cappuccino with cardamom shortbread or spiced dark chocolate and hazelnut mousse.

Enticing cocktails are showcased at Quilon, including the tamarind margarita and mango bellini or the non-alcoholic apple mojito. St James's Tube Station is a 5-minute walk from Quilon London and nearby is the iconic Big Ben.

Dishes displayed on a la carte menus are representative of the type of food available at the restaurant.

An excellent real South Indian restaurant. Authentic dishes, unlike so much of what’s described as ‘Indian’ in London, with attentive and charming staff. We went for lunch and the idea of choosing dishes from a large menu for a set price is one that other restaurants should follow. Everything was very good.

Great food + great service. We did the vegetarian tasting menu and it was delicious. The waitstaff and management were kind, welcoming and very attentive. Excellent overall!

Not the first time we’ve dined here, but the food, as usual, was phenomenal. The fried squid, and the lobster were particularly superb.

The restaurant is tastefully decorated. I like the coat check service. The overall service is great. The food is quite nice! I like their modern Indian cuisine. Prawn is a bit overbooked and the cod is little bland. But I love the soup, the special drink and lobster curry. The highlight is the desert. Beautiful and delicious!

fast booking service, the chicken dishes was ok nut nothing special, the vegeterian dish was really bad the service is to fast, we had dinner (appetizer+dinner) there at 18.45 hour and we left the restaurant already at 19.30, sorry this is to fast for us. the service is really bad for such a vaunted restaurant. even when we told the waiter to slow down the service he told us that this restaurant is every day very busy and they have to hurry up It's to expensive for the quality of food

Lovely restaurant with great service and food, but the min course ( lamb ) is a bit disappointing comparing to the other courses.

Quite simply, the best meal we have ever had. The staff were friendly and welcoming. We chose the 5 course beer menu. The beer was perfectly matched to the dishes being served. The food was amazing. A big thank you to everyone who looked after us.
