Once a Tudor yeoman’s house, The Quills in Rochester is now a popular restaurant, serving crowd-pleasing British cuisine. Sit in the beamed dining room surrounded by antique oak doors that the owners rescued from Rochester Cathedral when it was refurbished.

Blending familiar ingredients with special touches, all brought together in a rustic style, The Quills menu includes the likes maple-glazed pork ribs or Mexican spicy bean and avocado for breakfast, or a burger topped with BBQ beef brisket and a side of truffled mac & cheese. Chocolate brownie layered with cherry pie filling is amongst the enticing desserts.

Brimming with history, find The Quills a 10-minute walk from Rochester Train Station.

The burgers here are absolutely unreal! They mix sweet and savoury amazingly. The best burger I've ever had. I can't wait to go back and try another one off the menu :) such good value and the unlimited prosecco deal for two hours sweetened the deal. They didn't just ignore you and long out the refills like most places but left you with the bottle instead. The waitresses were very attentive and friendly. A young girl came over to ask how our desserts were as she had made them which was lovely. The staff take pride in their food and service. Can't wait to go back.

My friends and i visited Dec 20th and ordered the 3 course meal for £19.50 which was delicious! When ive been there before the staff have been a fairly miserable bunch barely managing to raise a smile but the waittress eho served us was dancing to quirky, thump thump music and generally making us laugh. She was great. Wish i knew her name? She had black hair tied back and wore glasses. She really put us in the frstive mood so well done to her. Would recommend food and lovely location in Rochester High Street.

Amazing staff! So much care and attention given. Christmas afternoon tea was incredible, not just the standard offerings. Great to have a mix of savoury and sweet treats and each were like a taste sensation :)

Dined here for lunch with a friend and my baby. It was not very busy in the restaurant. We ordered the Russell Crowe Breakfast each and then Cannolli for a small desert with a hot drink. The Breakfast was very tasty overall and a particular highlight was the poached eggs which were cooked beautifully. The spinach tasted a little gritty (we both noticed this) but it was nice to have this as an option instead of baked beans. The cannolli as ever were delicious. Service was very good. The Russell Crowe breakfast is named as such as he came in and ordered those items when he was in the area filming Les Miserables at the nearby Dockyard! I chose this restaurant as the menu has a wide range of dishes including a good proportion of vegetarian dishes as myself and my friend do not eat meat.
