Greeted pleasantly and offered our choice of table. Offered drinks and menu. The restaurant was quiet but we had a view over the lake and good service and food.

Sleek and contemporary, The Quicken Tree at Heart of England Conference Centre offers hearty British cuisine. With light lunches, indulgent Sunday dinners and an impressive choice for children, The Quicken Tree menu changes with the seasons using fresh, local produce.

Leading the delicious menu is a game and pale ale pie with rich gravy & mash, and other highlights include slow-braised blade of beef with parsnip & vanilla purée, creamy cabbage & bacon served with Dauphinoise potato, and oven-roasted seabass with bok choi, shiitake mushrooms & hoi sin noodles. Indulge in a decadent treat off the dessert menu, such as the tempting Bailey’s cheesecake with an Oreo biscuit base & roasted almond peaches.

Situated on a private estate, The Quicken Tree Fillongley enjoys a good reputation as a relaxed, family-friendly restaurant with stunning views of sprawling Warwickshire countryside. In summer, the spacious outdoor terrace is the perfect spot to soak up the sun and enjoy an al fresco meal.

food good, menu could be better with a little more variety needed, chips used to be really nice, like mum used to make, now seem like frozen ?? but all in all good, nice and friendly.

Two hours for two courses. Couldn’t fault the food, it was delicious. But let down terribly by the waiting staff. They were very nice, but completely ignored customers. We had two courses, a roast dinner and a dessert, and were stuck in the restaurant for two hours, mostly being ignored. The main arrived approx 30 minutes after we sat down, which is fine, but it took them 45 minutes to clear our plates after we finished. We just couldn’t get anyone’s attention. There were plenty of staff working, but they were mostly congregated around the bar chatting. Several waiting staff served nearby tables but none looked around to see if any diners wanted anything or tables needed clearing. We finally ordered pudding around 50 minutes after we finished our main, but the waitress seemed to forget to put the order in, as a table nearby who were still eating their main when we ordered dessert got their dessert before us, causing us to have to chase our dessert (when we finally got someone’s attention). We left straight after dessert, two hours after we arrived. Many other tables around us weren’t being tended to either and diners looked equally fed up. When the bill arrived, the waitress asked if everything was ok, I said the food was very good, she sensed we weren’t very happy so she asked if anything was wrong, to which I replied the service had been terrible, but before I could explain, she scuttled off! I was actually still talking and in fact trying to tell her that that the staff were very nice and would have further elaborated what the problem was but she fled! That was her opportunity to ask us for feedback and perhaps offer an apology, but she didn’t. Instead on our way out, after my partner and I had walked past her, she asked my (shy) mum why we weren’t happy!! The food itself (once ordered) didn’t take long to arrive, so I don’t want to hear the wait was due to the cooking of the food. The service is the problem here. A real shame.

We have dined here on quite a few occasions and usually we have really enjoyed the experience. The venue is great, the staff lovely and the food great.
However today the Sunday dinner was not up to its usual standard, the roast beef was very rare and contained quite a lot of gristle. We didn’t raise this at the time as we wouldn’t like to make a fuss.
The weather was very bad so perhaps there were staffing issues.
We have a booking to go back in a few weeks so hopefully it will have returned to its usual excellent standard

booked for 28th Feb @7:30pm for 4 people - very cold night - restaurant was warm enough though. We were sat by the fire exit which was draughty so we asked to be moved which was no problem except after a while the air con unit became a draught to so again asked for the unit to be turned off which again was no problem. we ordered pork belly, steak and ale pie and two super food burgers. The pie was full of meat and very tender and tasty 10/10. The pork belly was also very tasty 8/10. The two burgers were very good too 7-8/10. All dishes were presented very well. Due to the adverse weather there was only one waitress on board but this was no problem as there were only 4 other tables in use. Altogether a pleasant and enjoyable meal
