It was a wonderful and special occasion set off by the opulent surroundings and a glass of Veuve Clicquot. From start to finish it was wonderful. We fully appreciated the guidance and advice offered by our waiter Francesca and the excellent service throughout. The selection of teas was extensive, the sandwiches were very tasty followed by the beautiful fresh scones. Just when you thought you could eat no more a temptation of sweet confections came!

Overall, everything was fine, except that I was billed for 2 Christmas Carols Afternoon Tea, although I booked 2 Festive Champagne Afternoon Tea, since we were on a weekday and Carols was not there. Of course it was a small difference in price, but this fact of petty deception spoiled my impression. I did not immediately clarify this issue, so as not to spoil the mood of my mother, whom I invited to this tea party.

The Dorchester holds Special memories as I used to visit on Special occasions with my husband. Afternoon Tea at The Promenade was amazing as always relaxed atmosphere and delicious food. The Strawberries and Cream added because of Wimbledon was a really nice touch.

Our waiter Francesco was very professional and a great photographer. He made ordering easy for my children and the experience relaxing. There was amazing drinks for the occasion of Wimbledon The tea choices were spectacular and enjoyed by all 4 of us. The sandwiches were delicious and plentiful. My 18 year old son was able to eat as many as he wanted. The pastries were the best part. They were fresh and very tasty. The waitor offered to pack up what we were not able to eat. This is my second visit to this restaurant and I would definitely come back a 3rd time.

I’ve previously had afternoon tea at the promenade and thoroughly enjoyed it. On this occasion, although the service was excellent, I didn’t find the dining experience quite as good or up to the standard of my last visit. My guests were underwhelmed by the experience, this was disappointing, as I had highly recommended the Dorchester and for this visit I would have to agree, it was below par and it didn’t feel like luxury.
