The Dorchester is a very stylish and beautiful place. I was, however, quite shocked by its lack of proper covid-19 measures. Most staff members don't wear any face covering and none of them wore gloves. Not even staff that serves food. Although I've always enjoyed dining and socialising there, I'm not sure I would go any time soon due to the above. Also, I've asked for the birthday dessert for my boyfriend to be served accompanied by the happy birthday song played by the piano player. The staff, however, brought the dessert when the pianist wasn't even there. It was quite disappointing.

What a wonderful experience from start to finish - my wife and I came for a champagne tea and especially loved the sandwiches and the rose jam. Our waiter was exceptional and would highly recommend. My only comment would be that for the price you pay it would be nice to have your champagne glass refilled once without incurring a further charge- other than that - perfection :)

It was a wonderful and special occasion set off by the opulent surroundings and a glass of Veuve Clicquot. From start to finish it was wonderful. We fully appreciated the guidance and advice offered by our waiter Francesca and the excellent service throughout. The selection of teas was extensive, the sandwiches were very tasty followed by the beautiful fresh scones. Just when you thought you could eat no more a temptation of sweet confections came!

As usual it was a great birthday treat.

Overall, everything was fine, except that I was billed for 2 Christmas Carols Afternoon Tea, although I booked 2 Festive Champagne Afternoon Tea, since we were on a weekday and Carols was not there. Of course it was a small difference in price, but this fact of petty deception spoiled my impression. I did not immediately clarify this issue, so as not to spoil the mood of my mother, whom I invited to this tea party.
Champagne Afternoon Tea £80 per person, inclusive of a glass of Veuve Clicquot Brut Champagne
Traditional Afternoon Tea £70 per person
