I am coeliac so need a gluten free diet. We do eat at the Priory quite regularly for lunch in the bar as you have an excellent choice of gluten free meals so it is a luxury for me to be able to eat out safely without being ill. The only thing missing on the gf Sunday roast was a Yorkshire pudding??! but being able to have sticky toffee pudding made up for it! The Priory is a very pleasant place to eat, easy to book s table on line, nice decor and pleasant staff. We will be back shortly.

Breakfast was good but the service very slow. The waitresses were not very interested in serving the tables.

Table booked for 6 x friends for 5:45. I had advised on the booking that 1 x guest was possibly in a wheelchair, she actually came using a tri-pod walking stick. The waitress then escorted us towards the rear of the seating area having to maneuver past several empty tables. We then asked to be seated in a nearby round table to save my friend having to struggle with her walking stick - to be told 'yes I suppose you can, sit where you like', which came across as quite flippant.
Food was very nice, no complaints from guests. However service was very slow, even though it was early and there was only about another 3 or 4 tables occupied. We sat down about 6pm - we ordered 6 x mains plus 1 x starter - all from the early bird menu so quite basic food. At about 6:40 - asked waiter where our starter was. Was told ' we were next', came about 10 mins later. Our main course finally arrived at about 7:15.

The lemon and garlic chicken was lovely, enjoyed by 2. I enjoyed spinach and mushroom pie. 2 others had tapas and cleared the plates. The bakewell tart looked as though it was the final piece cut in 2. Apple pie was great too. It can get quite noisy Sunday lunchtime but didnt bother us. Food great, decoration and comfortable chairs make for nice meal out.

The food was lovely and I have no complaints. However I would say that the service is a little on the slow side. It was a long wait before and between the first and second course. So aim for a leisurely meal with additional drinks required.
    Very friendly though.

A very good range of vegetarian options and dishes well presented - I appreciate the 'tapas' menu. So far, favourites are the crispy cauliflower (tapas) and gnocchi (mains).Food given 4* because 5* reserved for top Michelin *. Staff are efficient, polite and friendly. Not relevant to comment on drinks - only had tap water and slim-line tonic.

Was highly recommended by a friend and we were not disappointed, brIght, spacious and tables spaced apart so you could enjoy the conversation at your own table and not everyone else’s. Big windows and fresh light decor. Food wise the choices made a nice change from the usual pub grub, beautifully served. Staff very pleasant and friendly. So impressed we made a booking for Christmas Eve lunch on the way out.
