Beneath the bustling streets of Cardiff city can be found chic yet rustic British restaurant, The Potted Pig. Serving British cuisine with a French and New York-inspired twist, The Potted Pig also uses locally sourced produce with full traceability.
The Potted Pig endeavour to use seasonal, Welsh produce which dictates what goes onto the plate, therefore their menus change regularly with the seasons. Flavour-packed mains may include the likes of seared pork tenderloin with cider-braised pig's cheek, crispy pork belly & braised lentils, or chargrilled Welsh steak served with chips and a choice of garlic butter or green sauce.
A homely setting with exposed brick walls and wooden tables, The Potted Pig also serves a popular Sunday roast. From the bar, try an impressive selection of over 30 gins, as well as beers and wines.
Within an old bank vault, this candlelit restaurant can be found on Cardiff High Street, and is within close proximity to Cardiff Millennium Stadium and Cardiff Castle.

Left disappointed after our starter was served with burnt ciabatta, then had the audacity to add the ‘optional service charge’ was was neither warranted nor optional. Won’t be going back

Disappointing. Ham hock was icy cold. Welsh rarebit was mainly leeks. Scallops were very salty. Eton mess seemed to be made with shop bought meringue. Espresso had no crema and was like warm such that sugar lumps didn't dissolve.
Only 125ml glasses of wine or bottles can be bought, but they did give me a medium-sized glass when asked.
It was Friday lunchtime and the restaurant was virtually empty.
