The Portman Marylebone is a traditional pub housing an elegant dining room. The classic British and European cuisine is joined by creative cocktails, real ales and international wines.

Favourites on The Portman menu include the Grilled Spatchcock Marinated with Lime & Marjoram, Warm Potato, Green Beans, Watercress, Radish & Flaked Almond Salad or the classic beer-battered haddock with fries and mushy peas. Amongst the flavour-packed vegetarian options including the risotto of peas, broad beans asparagus and pecorino.

In the chic London enclave of Portman Village, The Portman dining room is decked out in plush velvet chairs and crisp white linen, creating a dining environment that is both informal and sophisticated. With its wooden bar and wooden floors, the pub itself is charmingly British.

Set back from the bustle of Oxford Street The Portland in London provides a cosy sanctuary in Marylebone. Hyde Park and Marble Arch Tube Station are a 2-minute walk away.

Really good Gazpacho, pretty good Sunday Roast (1 thick slice good quality beef, rare as requested but showing signs of wear at the edges), melt in the mouth Pavlova. Good selection of wines by the glass and staff seem to be conversant with the list. I had Sicilian Chardonnay aperitif and very good Rioja. There is enough space between tables and outside dining if preferred. Up to date décor, not too fussy. Young clientele - probably targeted that way. Slick service, and ultimately good rapport with all the waiting staff

An oasis of gastronomic calm and efficient service which was unexpected after the fight through Friday night revellers in the downstairs bar.
The food was of an excellent standard the stone bass and hake were cooked to perfection as were the starters. The dining experience was like private dining which was most enjoyable.

Had booked for the upstairs restaurant, alrhoigh the bar dining area was quiet and welcoming.
For most of tge meal we were the only people in the restaurant but this dud not impact in either the service or the atmosphere. Food was very good, creative and yet wholesome abd good sized portions. Service was exemplary.
I would definitely go back and my guest wants to book the restaurannt out for corporate events she was so impressed.
