Restaurant description
Previously 2 cute and charming rural cottages, The Poplar Farm has been tastefully refurbished to reflect the beautiful Hampshire countryside enclosing the pub. It offers well-loved British cuisine which can be enjoyed from the cosy hearth-fire or in the pretty gardens. With an authentic thatched roof and rustic furnishings, the supposed ghosts in the pub diversify the peaceful atmosphere.
Hearty Sunday roasts and trusty British dishes head The Poplar Farm menu, and a range just for kids offers mini versions of pub favourites. Signature Vintage pies offer fillings like beef & merlot with buttered peas, while The Poplar Farm ‘Vintage classics’ menu includes lemon & garlic-roasted chicken with seasoned chips.
Paying homage to the Great British pub, the Vintage Inn bar stock includes cask-conditioned beers, real ales and a meticulously compiled wine list. Thirst-quenching offerings include seasonal non-alcoholic cocktails and freshly-pressed juices, and rich coffee is brewed freshly throughout the day.
On the pretty Pilhill Brook, nestled in the Hampshire countryside, The Poplar Farm is just 7 minutes’ drive into Andover.

Have eaten here many times, found the food under usual standards. And found starter and dessert not worth £6:75 each. Also slow cook beef was over cooked. And again, not worth £16:75.

Not a great experience and quality of the food and service here has significantly declined over the last 6 months. A shame as its a nice location and used to be so much better.

In the first 5 mins of arriving we heard 2 complaints about the food from two separate customers. Our Main course tasted lovely but both my husband and I had items missing that was clearly stated on the menu. Could have been hotter. Dessert -Apple pie & custard was Scortching hot and the pastry was soggy, it was clearly re-heated in the microwave!! Didn't taste great at all. I had to ask how much longer our food will be as it was 45 minutes before we started eating our main. Shame really as lovely cosy pub one of my fav places to eat, but always complaints about Poplar Farm.
