One of Scotland’s most magnificent dining rooms, The Pompadour is known for stunning views of Edinburgh Castle and Princes Street, and exquisite hand-painted wall panels. The Pompadour continues its tradition of excellence under the guidance of award-winning Head Chef Dan Ashmore.

The 8-course or 4-course tasting menus, feature locally sourced ingredients, complemented by a selected a collection of fine wines as well as unique signature cocktails.

The stunning Renaissance-style dining room is recognised as one of Edinburgh’s finest, with corniced ceilings, ethereal murals and rich velvet swept throughout. The shopper’s delights of Princes Street are just 2 minutes’ walk from The Pompadour restaurant.

    Very much enjoyed our meal
    Extremely attentive and the meal was perfection
    Just enough and not too much
    My husband enjoyed conversation with our main waiter who was from Sardinia very entertaining
    But overall would definitely return

    Outstanding!! Service, food, decor, and overall ambience. I would give it six stars out of five!
    The staff are attentive without being invasive. The decor is a french-parlor theme with views of the castle. I would highly recommemd this restaurant.

    Simply extraordinary quality of food and service. This place should have two Michelin Stars. The dinner was simply perfect.

    We enjoyed our tasting menu at Pompad our. Each course arrived promptly and the waiters gave detailed instructions about the dish and it's contents. The restaurant was not particularly busy and there were several waiters. We were served by all of the waiters but would have preferred just one or two in order to build up a rapport with him. ( there was only one female server)
    We were surprised when the bill came that a service charge of 10 %had been automatically charged. We would normally decode ourselves exactly how much we would like to leave as a service charge.

    Once again another fantastic meal at the Pompadour. We went for the summer dinner for two offer. £99 for 3 courses from the a la carte menu and a bottle of wine.

    We had an excellent strawberry cocktail when we arrived accompanied by some delicious canapés.

    For starters we had the Berwick Crab and Carrot Tartare dishes. These were both very well presented and tasted fantastic.

    For mains we had Treacle Cured Sirloin and Babaganoush, Peppers and Roasted Aubergine. The beef was the tastiest steak I have ever had. The flavour was just incredible and the veggie main was also excellent.

    For dessert we both had the caramel soufflé. This was nice but could have had a little more Carmel flavour. Maybe a caramel spice to pour into the soufflé.

    The wine was good and the service was great. Staff we really nice and attentive.

    One of our favourite restaurants and we will be back.
