The whole experience was amazing. All the dishes were full of flavour and exquisitely presented. The service was impeccable. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

The first Scottish venture for impassioned brothers Chis and Jeff, The Pompadour by Galvin offers stunning French fine dining. Guests can lounge with expertly mixed aperitifs in the speciality Pompadour cocktail salon.

Blending the finest Scottish produce and a pioneering French cooking style, signature dishes from the Pompadour menu include roast Scottish Chateaubriand, violet artichokes, ratte potatoes & garlic cream or apple tarte tatin to share.

Over their careers, the Galvin restaurant brothers have gained awards including 2 Michelin stars, 10 AA Rosettes, and were named Chefs’ Chef of the Year in 2011. First opened in 1925, The Pompadour in Edinburgh was inspired by the lavish leanings of Louis XV’s chief mistress.

The stunning Renaissance-style dining room is recognised as one of Edinburgh’s finest, with corniced ceilings, ethereal murals and rich velvet swept throughout. The shopper’s delights of Princes Street are just 2 minutes’ walk from The Pompadour restaurant. Please note, the restaurant observes a smart casual dress code.

First Class quality food, presentation and service. I have two allergies and special attention was given to this - very impressive

A wonderful and unique experience. It was lovely to be served by staff who were passionate about the food and wine they presented. The whole ambience was delightful and very impressive. Will definitely return when back in Edinburgh, and certainly recommend to anyone visiting the City.

With the deal you have the sample menu. For this deal only 3 choices available for starters and main, but the choice was fine. We all had the Plaice for main and it was delicious. The restaurant has beautiful views up towards Edinburgh castle, but only a couple of seats are available that look out onto this, however the rest of the views are lovely enough looking down onto Princes Sreet and the West End. Service was second to none. A glass of prosecco was included in the meal and went down nicely. The Lamb starter was melt in the mouth. A very enjoyable meal. Cocktails later in the bar , but beware they add a 10% service charge!

Excellent, from the very warm welcome to goodbyes, a great experience. Food was presented with well and delicious, those who served throughout were polite and attentive and there was a feeling that they genuinely wanted you to enjoy the whole experience. We'll be back

There seems to be little point in using this web site to book a table as the restaurant positions you in the least best table in the premises.
The service was very good but the choice and quality of the food was only fair. I was expecting much more.
