Very nice surroundings and excellent staff. The food was beautifully presented however the volume of vegetables was disappointing.

A restored country-style pub in the peaceful town of Aldridge, The Plough & Harrow serves a menu of Mediterranean-influenced dishes. As well as a sizeable patio for al fresco dining, this gastro pub comprises a bar & restaurant decked out with wooden floors, log fires & deep leather armchairs, giving it a cosy, rustic atmosphere.
With chefs given the opportunity to train at cookery schools in Spain and Italy, The Plough & Harrow menu features modern signature recipes made using the finest ingredients. As well as creative daily-changing specials, favourites include king prawn, crab and chorizo linguine, or spit-roasted chicken with lemon & garlic confit. A kids’ menu and Sunday roasts also feature, and desserts include rich vanilla and chocolate gelato with home-baked cookies.
The result of a treasured partnership with Rothschild wine merchants, the cellar showcases many fine wines, while token real ales and premium spirits are found at The Plough & Harrow bar. Nostalgic British nibbles and sharing platters bursting with international flavours offer more laidback dining.
The Plough & Harrow in Walsall is a 7-minute drive from Blake Street Rail Station.

Went to The Plough and Harrow for Mothering Sunday. There was a special menu for the day and everything we chose was simply wonderful! All of the food was beautifully prepared and presented, a feast for the eyes and the taste did not disappoint either. When we were given the bill, I was given a small jar of sweets decorated with a pink ribbon, which was a thoughtful touch.

Ok where to start, this is not a cheap ready meal pub so your expectations are high to start with. You expect to have good food well prepared with good surroundings and service. The surroundings and atmosphere of the pub are very pleasant, we did find the chairs hard and uncomfortable. The starters came in good time after ordering, we found the soup to be only warm and rather small portions. The pate was tasty but again portion size really small. So disappointed with the starters. The mains, were two steaks, corn fed chicken and duck. Steaks were ordered medium to well done, one steak came well done the other was bleeding on to the plate! The chicken was cooked really well although the portion was again very small. There were no issues with the duck. We had additional portions of vegetables these were only peas and curly cabbage, not a very good selection. The deserts were ok that's it nothing special.
We found the drinks to be expensive.
Overall we were disappointed with the cost nearly £200 for four people, we were given the deserts for free due to the issues with the steaks and soup.
Sorry just don't think it's worth the cost so will not be going back any time soon.
Service was very good.

Second visit to dine here. Both really good experiences. Staff very helpful & very organised. We received complementary nibbles whilst waiting for our first course. Food is presented beautifully. If you need to change 'combinations' on the menu, just ask because it's accommodated! Make sure you book on a Sunday as it's very busy which is testament to the quality of food & service.

Had the fish and chips, extremely dissatisfied. Had to askfor a second portion of chips as first portion was black and charcoal. Fish was very greasy and completely tasteless. All the ??On the table was dirty even the replaced ones were. Aweful and will not be returning.

Avoid table 15, it's surround by a force field that renders you invisible to all serving staff. Not recommended for OAPs as you might die before coffee us offered.

Ordered 2 Roast Beef Dinners with a side order of Cauliflower Cheese. Side order was vastly overpriced for the minute portion that arrived ! A tiny teacup portion ???
Vegetable portion for 2 people was small and waterway ! Not good .
Over priced meal in general compared to other local restaurants serving similar Sunday Roasts.
