Found nestled in the quaint village of Coton, 3 miles from Cambridge, The Plough seamlessly balances pub food and fine dining. The Plough in Coton is a charming cornerstone of the community offering summertime al fresco dining and a popular Sunday roast.

Warm haggis with roquette and tarragon, fresh apple and mustard sauce is a favourite starter, and there are regularly-changing specials for something one-off. Main courses at The Plough near Cambridge include pub favourites such as fish and chips, along with inventive options like fennel, cucumber and hazelnut salad with brioche croutons.

The desserts on The Plough menu comprise classic favourites, such as apple crumble with custard, and crème brulee with boozy prunes. A selection of light bites, including casual options such as pizza and sandwiches, is also available.

This historic building offsets original low ceilings and gnarled beams with contemporary embellishments. The Plough in Fen Ditton is full of character and a 15-minute drive from Cambridge.

Excellent meal. Very pleasant helpful staff.

I love the interior decor of this place and it has a nice atmosphere. I really enjoyed my starter of homemade pasta with clams but was a little disappointed with the chicken burger main as it was very average - this was one of the 'specials' on the board and there was nothing special about it at all, shame... Semifreddo desert had a strange texture but tasted nice. The food came out incredibly fast and I couldn't help feeling a bit rushed. Overall a nice enough experience but I don't think I'll be rushing back.

Best Sunday lunch in a very long time. Delicious food complimented by amazing personal service from the staff. 100% will definitely be back again soon.

We enjoyed our works luncheon here. The atmosphere and staff are lovely. The burgers are fab!

We had Sundsy roast here as a couple. Staff extremely pleasant and attentive and I want to give them 10 stars. The meal wasn't hot enough for us and the pork, although very tasty, was a very small portion only half a slice with a tiny bit added on. Roast potatoes were spot on and the veg varied and tasty. Would probably try again. We did find it very noisy. I give it 3 stars only but cannot change the 5 stars below

We have eaten at this restaurant on many occasions, with friends, with children and as a couple. Each visit has proven very enjoyable with wonderful service and delicious food.

This is a firm favourite of ours - we walk four miles from our house just to go there on a Sunday. The menu has a good range of innovative foods - for example I had a goats cheese mousse which was paired with a sorbet - to 'old favourites' like Sunday roasts and an imaginative burger. The staff are friendly, the wine list is accessible and affordable and the setting is pleasant which is basically a well appointed village pub eatery.

This was our first visit and it wont be our last! What a wonderful atmosphere and attentive staff. The food is perfectly cooked and well presented giving a feast for the eyes and tantalising the taste buds.
Part of me wants this to remain a hidden gem but that just wouldn't be fair so I will highly recommend to people that love a great dinning experience .... you won't be disappointed.
Oh and all the best to our lovely waitress as she embarks on her second year at uni.
