A rescued rail station building, The Phoenix Denmark Hill is packed to the rafters with character and striking style. Exposed brick and arched windows feature inside, along with a menu of gourmet pub grub and international beers.
The selection of British recipes on The Phoenix Denmark Hill menu ensures there's something for everyone. Classic flavours include the slow-cooked British short rib with creamed potatoes, tender stem broccoli and bone marrow sauce, while fresh seafood options feature pan-fried sea bass with British asparagus and lemon butter. There are succulent burgers, including a vegetarian option with quinoa and mushroom, as well as rustic sandwiches and Sunday roasts at the weekend.
For dessert, diners can share salted caramel profiteroles, or treat themselves to chocolate brownie with vanilla bean ice cream, or a generous cheeseboard. From the bar at The Phoenix in Camberwell, there are beers from around the globe, fine wines, and premium spirits.
With the occasional noticeable rumble from a passing train underneath the pub adding a fun little quirk to the pub, The Phoenix London is only a 1-minute walk to Denmark Hill Rail Station.

I hired the upstairs area for a wake. Staff couldn't have been more helpful or friendly. The food and drinks were great. They also accommodated a couple of extra guests and gave us all the time we needed for this occasion.
