This is the second time I have eaten here and it’s been excellent both times. The food is amazing as well as the beer.

On a core structure around 500 years old, The Park Gate Inn is a beautiful, old pub, proud of its well-loved menu of British favourites, and proximate to such eye-catching landmarks as Leeds Castle and The Great Water. With rustic wine racks, a brick hearth and art of the landscape, The Park Gate Inn is a charming country pub, with seating by the fireplace and in the al fresco beer garden.

Hearty Sunday roasts and trusty British dishes head The Park Gate Inn menu, and a range just for kids offers mini versions of pub favourites. Signature Vintage pies offer fillings like beef & merlot with buttered peas, while The Park Gate Inn ‘Vintage classics’ menu includes lemon & garlic-roasted chicken with seasoned chips.

Paying homage to the Great British pub, the Vintage Inn bar stock includes cask-conditioned beers, real ales and a meticulously compiled wine list. Thirst-quenching offerings include seasonal non-alcoholic cocktails and freshly-pressed juices, and rich coffee is brewed freshly throughout the day.

The Park Gate Inn Hollingbourne is just a 12-minute drive to Maidstone.

Very good. Due to the restaurant being VERY busy the food took a wee bit longer than expected to arrive, but we were in no hurry.
When it came it was very good and very good value for the money paid.
    We will return

Booked on line, very easy and response was immediate. I understand that the Restaurant was short of a couple of staff due to sickness on Sunday, I have to say this did not affect the service at all, food was excellent, very professional staff. we will definitely return.

Booked for mothers days and the restaurant was very busy. Seated on time and service was attentive and quick. Food was choice from a small set menu and was good quality and delivered to the table quickly and hot. The starters for our table were between baked mushrooms with cheese and calamari. Both basic but executed well. Sunday roast all round for mains except a Fish and Chips and both were great. Roast had a salad garnish which was out of place was my only criticism. Just not needed when you have nice roast potatoes! To finish, a rich chocolate Tiramisu which was on the large side and a creme brûlée. Both worked well. Price was reasonable and family had no complaints at all.

We were not happy with the starter. There was no celery as. On menu and the bread had to be sent back as it was not toasted enough to use to dip in the cheese. Also there was too thick a batter on the fish

Not great, food fairly poor, too quick to serve, food came out with 10mins of ordering. Very cold within premise and quite cramped seating, shame because it's lovely looking pub in and out?

Normally a very good place to eat! But after dinning there last night we was very surprised at how poor the standards were. There was no crayons for my daughter to go with the children's menu and there hasn't been any for months. Starter of bread with olive oil and vinegar came swimming with oil so had to ask for seperately vinegar. Main of steak well done came out medium to rare and my husband ordered sweet patato fries and chips came out instead. Ordered a pudding which come with biscuits on the side but they was soggy and cold wasn't the normal round hard biscuits that are normally served with this dessert.overall disappointing meal this time! :(

We have visited Park Gate a number of times over the years with changing quality of meals. On our visit yesterday we enjoyed all courses and the Service fine until the desert/coffee time when items arrived at different times and one coffee cold.

Oh Dear..... what a massive disappointment! After enjoying meals at the Park Gate Inn on many occasion before I had no hesitation in booking a table for six at 5.30pm yesterday. I made the reservation over a months ago, to ensure I could get a table. The restaurant was welcoming, staff on the bar friendly etc until we sat down to eat in the somewhat empty restaurant. (Considering it was the weekend before Xmas I assumed it would be frantic). The waitress was 'pleasant' but that was all..... she asked for our order however we were promptly told that the kitchen had ran out of four starters, four main course choices plus three out of four choices of advertised steaks and also three desserts. Of course they were all the choices we had made! Now considering I booked this reservation well in advanced I asked why the food had run out... I was abruptdly advised that even though I had booked there had been a stream of 'Walk Ins' which they didnt know about so the food had been eaten. You can imagine I was totally embarrassed considering I had insisted to my friends that on past experience the food had been great, service super and overall a lovely restaurant to attend. Unfortunately, I have booked a table for 13 on the 27th December and it is too late to alter my plans and venue so I am having to go with it however if my family have to endure the unacceptable experience that we suffered yesterday I will be mortified. Further more I will ensure that a writeup will be forthcoming on Trip Advisor plus any other web site as appropriate. I would be interested in hearing your views therfore kindly call me on 07984 646355 where I would be happy to discuss.

On a very cold morning the restaurant was a bit chilly to begin with but we were seated by a radiator so it soon warmed up.
Food and wine was fine. As we were meeting friends who we hadn't seen for some months we were very chatty and kept the staff waiting for our order but they were very patient!
