Featured in the The Good Food Guide and The Good Pub Guide, The Oxford Arms is a beautiful 19th-century hideaway serving modern British flavours and cask ales. The cosy interior features crackling fireplaces, flickering candlelight and exposed stone walls, while outside there is a lush, tranquil garden to enjoy meals and casual drinks in the sunshine.

Gourmet British recipes are served on the Oxford Arms menu, along with seasonal European twists, with ingredients used from the pub's organic kitchen garden. A selection of light starters includes homemade pâté with toast and chutney, along with a tart of the day with mixed leaves. Handmade venison burger is served with triple cooked chips, while vegetarians are treated to authentic Mediterranean treats like the wild mushroom tagliatelle with white truffle oil and parmesan. On Sundays, slow-cooked meats are served with fresh vegetables and rich gravy.

The Oxford Arms in Kirtlington has a selection of traditional cask ales on tap, as well as beers from around the world, and fine wines. For pudding, there are zesty sorbets, and classic sponge puddings.

A wonderfully cosy rural pub that's full of history, The Oxford Arms is an 11-minute drive from Bicester Rail Station.

Always excellent courteous service. Food is tasty and plentiful . Roast beef very generous and cooked to your liking with all the trimmings and with a bowl of hot vegetables . Potatoes could go with being a little hotter hut all in a great meal . Potted shrimps is my favourite starter with lovely hot toast . Homemade chocolates served with coffee is a nice touch .

Service was poor. Venue was cold another table and ours left coats on. The other table complained about the cold. Food was low end quality with high end prices. No offer of water for the table.

We had a very friendly and warm welcome as we arrived at the Oxford Arms. It is a traditional English Country Pub, with sofas and tables and chairs to sit around a log fire. We ate at the far side of the bar as we were a table for 7. The food was delicious and good sized portions. I highly recommend the fishcake as a starter, but you only need a small main course. The venison burger is delicious as is the fish course. Everyone at our table said they had a superb meal. The Hook Norton Ale was also exceptionally kept and delicious.
I can highly recommend this pub.
